Meeting the parents

“Apparently it’s just up here on the left” I said to Jodie as I turned into the road. It was filled with large houses and beautiful gardens protected by gates and fences. I felt very out of place here. I continued at a slow speed and we were scanning each house number as we drove past.  “There, number 59” Jodie pointed. The house was beautiful. It had large stain glass windows, a wooden front door and large hanging porch lights on either side. The path was covered with well kept plants that were clearly looked after by a gardener. We were shocked at how expensive looking this house was.  “You ready?” She asked and I huffed. “No”  “Come on, I’m right here with you” she patted my arm. We exit the car and walked to the black front gate that had an intercom next to it. I pressed the button
