Chapter 18

2030 Words
The three moons aligned in the night sky as the twinkling stars shout out from the shimmering colors of the land. A cold wind howled that cued the melodic nature music running and glide in the air. Mushrooms glowed with sleeping flowers and pods gleamed like the neon lights under the sky.      “This is the Realm of the Faes?” Dean started as he gazed at the beauty of the lights like a bright festivity around him. “I've heard stories about this place but―" he then stopped with an open mouth. "t's beautiful.”      Suddenly, a swarm of air sprites glowed towards us, which made Gali flew around happily as he joined his family. Then the creatures made this motion with their hands rapidly, like they were trying to say something. And they did. . .     They are trying to warn us.     Vifen's eyes grew and jolted towards us. “We need to run. Now!” She commanded.     Then guards start appearing around us from the purple shade of night. We were caught off guard as they draw nearer and nearer that their clanging armors interrupted the musical howling of night. Dean grabbed his shear in his pocket as it glowed in his hand and a sword came flashing in the air. He grabbed the blade and swung it around in the color of night.      “Dreamers!” One yelled, warning the rest of his team. "A Children of Morpheus!"     The troops clanged their blades in their shields as others bent their bows with silver arrows pointed right at us.      “Surrender!” The commanding fairy said as he walked towards us.     The swarm of sprites with Gali pumped themselves as if they were ready to attack, with Vifen grabbed a rock as the roots entwined around it like a hammer. The commander stared at them with fiery eyes of anger as his silver hair glistened down from the neon lights that reminded me of someone. . .      “You traitors!” He yelled at Vifen and at the sprites. “You coincided with the enemies. You'll get what you all deserve!” He added as his voice firmed in wrath.      “We just need to talk to Prince Vadrin.” I calmly announced as I moved closer to him, slowly. “I need to see him now.”      I can hear my heart beating as I gazed around us, and stared at the hellish spawned eyes of hate.     “Prince Vadrin doesn't have time to see mortals, especially with the likes of you!”       “You are in big trouble.” Vifen said giggling as we all stared back at her.     Not a good time, I thought.     The moon moved right under us in a clear as it rayed under me that made my armor gleamed that captured his eyes. He jerked and pulled my cloak and took a step back revealing the leafy armor that Vadrin gave me.     “How did you get that?” He said as he grabbed his silver blade from his scabbard and pointed it that made Dean jerked towards me, but Vifen stopped him. With that the others pulled their swords out. “That is only for a royal armor!” He said.     I didn't answer, my hands gleamed as I grabbed the Key of Air from my side and pulled it out. The sword glowed heavenly blind as they all grunted and shut their eyes.      “Charge!” He yelled blindly as they all ran towards us with their blades in the air, and with the arrows flew in the sky like rain drops.     Dean's hand glowed stronger as his blade faded in the darkness and a light encircled us that beamed as a shield. The arrows thud and their swords clang in the field of flash transparency. I dug with my hand and blew the dirt, as it whirled around the force, shading us from their sight.      “I'll add a distraction.” I informed them as they nodded. “I have an idea but I'm not sure if it'll work.” I added in a whispering voice.      I put back my blade and my hands glowed white as a neighing sound burst out from outside. My hands glowed brightly with the sword as we all heard their disgust behind the light. I smiled as their tone repulsed on what I imagined.      It actually worked!     “What did you do?” Vifen asked as she moved closer to me. “I wanna see it,” she added.      “Trust me, you don't wanna see it,” I replied as Dean blew the shield around us with the dust exploded with.     We all glanced at the horse for a moment, now with hairy two arms and four legs. They all grunted in revolt as they all paced back at us and attack. Dean draws the sword in the light and swung it that made a spark ran down with the enemies' blade.      Then the battle had begun.      The sprites flew around and lifted a guard in the air and drop him in the ground. Vifen waved his hammer-like weapon and roots starts to grow and whipped them around. I grabbed my blade that made a bursting light and whirled it as the twisted horses attack the archers. My hands gleamed brightly as the horse gleamed with armors and sword.      “That is creepy, disgusting and disturbing.” Vifen said as she hit a guarding in the head with her weapon. “But it's funny.” She grinned.     “I know. I accidentally made that from the Dream Realm just this night,” I said as I swung the sword to the commander.      “You disgusting creatures!” The commander yelled as he held his sword with both of his arms and swirl his blade with force. I blocked it, then he kicked me that made me grunt and land down on the ground.      Pan's pipe glowed in my neck as I felt energy jolting out from it. Then I started to hearing a voice, whispering what should I do. I quickly grabbed and blew as a melodic sound came flowing in the air. Vifen jerked and looked at me then she was kicked from behind and fell. The commander started screaming holding his ears like a crazy person in an institute.      “Make it stop!” He cried out as he fell on his knees while the others continued to assault us.      “You need to go!” Dean commanded as he blocked an attack. “We'll be right behind you!”     “Gali, go with him!” Vifen tasked as Gali flew from his group and landed on my shoulder.     The leader stood in pain and anger as he starts to whirl his blade to me. I swung the sword and kicked him in the legs as Gali flew around his eyes, irritating him for me to have an advantage.      “I will not leave you!” I replied as tears began to flow my eyes.      Then someone slashed my legs from behind. I turned and let a fire blaze out of my hand that burned his head and dropped. I fell on my knees as I felt the pain rushing inside me.      Fire dances around me as the sword hovered above that made whirl of flame that beamed like a pillar in the night sky. I screamed as the pain swallowed me inside. Then everything stopped as my sight blurred out in the clearing of my the area as I felt a flower grew beside me.     “Run, Rafael!” Dean said, commanding. As I saw the leader raised his sword, everything slowed down around me as I heard Dean kept screaming my name.       Then a spark burst from two swords that attacked and blocked me. I looked beside me as I saw Dean with his eyes tearing up. He then swung his blade with force and pushed me behind. “Run!”      I quickly stood and run with Gali into the forest of light and dark. I looked back until the sight of him fades in my senses as we got deeper and deeper. The lights glowed around me as I heard whooshing sound far from behind. I opened my hands and the sword flew directly at my hand. The pain filled me with adrenaline as we continued escaping.     Everything happened so quickly, it was all a blur. I panic in fear as Gali showed me the way to the waterfalls. The flowers bloomed as they all gleamed in the sky as dawn starts to break.      I suddenly felt numb inside as we continued to pace where I stayed for the first time in this place, back to the treehouse. Gali flew up opening the trapdoor as I hurriedly climbed on the vines. I moaned in pain as I forced myself to move up. I look back as the sun rises from the forest that reminded me one of the images that were sent to me in a dream to find the Key of Water.     I pulled myself up and shut the door as I crawled in with an ache in my legs. I felt my will to fight fade as if my heart burned to nothing. My breathing came hard, and painful as everything flashed in my mind. My memory of dad hit his head on the wheels, mom crying with bloody lashes on her back and Dean protecting me. I remembered all the person that loved me fall on their knees and succumbed to death. As my sight was back to the void.     I heard their voices as I kept my eyes shut, trying to stop my tears from flowing. Then someone held my shoulders and calmed me down. My eyes opened and saw him.     “Rafael, it's me.” A face came out of the beam. “It's me, Rafael. It's dad.” He smiled as tears flowed from his eyes.     I hugged him as I felt his heartbeat and his sobbing behind me. He stared at me with a huge grin in his face with puppy eyes.     “I know how h-hard it is to know that I'm not your father.” He said while smiling. “But I'll tell you this, you are the best son that someone could ever have. It's okay to be afraid sometimes, cause being afraid means that you are facing your fears. No matter what happened, just remember this, I love you for who you are.” He whimpered then hugged me tightly.          I cried as I felt him fade in the light, slowly disappearing away in my arms. “Dad, come back,” I called.     I was back in the void alone, crying my heart out as I felt everything he said. So he knew everything about me, and yet he loved me like I'm his own child.      “Morpheus! I know you're here!” I called out to him. “Please, I need to talk to my dad again! Morpheus, please!” I begged out waiting for him to answer.      Complete silence took over.     “Please, I begged off you! I need to see him again.” I pleaded as I kneeled and bowed crying.     “I can't do that anymore, Rafael.” Morpheus replied. “Remember your dad's words for you because those will give you will and strength to confront the far evil that you're about to face. He added. "Now see what you need to see.”     I cried slowly screaming his name, calling for him because maybe, just maybe he will come to me. Then a door came behind me that made me stood and ran towards it. To the blindly and heavenly light just to see someone, to see what I need to see, as Morpheus said, with high hope.     I was back in the Realm of the Faes and I was lying on the bed. The sun was already shining and Gali was sleeping on the table. The trapdoor opened up, revealing Vadrin carrying his satchel. I swung my arms towards his face and hit him as I fell down to my knees weeping.      He jolted towards me and hugged me tightly, as I felt his heart beating calmly. I hugged him back.      “Why didn't you told me about you?” I asked weakly with resent.     “You've been poisoned.” He didn't reply back as he helped me stood on my feet and brought me back on the bed. “I've heard what happened. Your uncle is alive, don't worry just sleep.” He said under his breath.     “Where is he, Vadrin?” I asked with panic in my voice.     “H-how did—” He stopped, stuttering in a frozen state. "Y-you said my real name."     He jerked and moved closer beside, wrapping his arms around me as I hear his joy cheering out.     “Why didn't you told me?” Tears flowed from my emerald eyes with my heart pleading slowly in beat.
