The Alpha

Chapter 1 Passing On The Torch

"Please Enter" the alpha's voice boomed from inside his office. 

I am so nervious my father rarely called me into he office. The office was a place for official meetings and even during my alpha training my father never thought meetings between father and daughter should be official. Honestly I think that he just hates being coped up in his office all day because he doesn't really take any of his meetings in the office.

Despite my nerves I walk into the office and take a seat across from my father. 

"Aria'', my father started to speak, ''your mother and I have been talking and we have decided that we wish to retire from our positions as soon as possible and since you have finished your alpha training early, we would like you to start taking over now, and officially take the position of Alpha at the end of the year.''

''5 months from now'' I exclaim, ''are you sure dad.''

He smiled, ''yes in 5 months I  would like you to become the official alpha of the Red Moon Pack.''

Wow, I wasn't expecting to become alpha so soon, both of my parents are young. I had assumed that they would wish to remain in their positions for awhile. 

My father continued, ''however for the next 5 months before it becomes official, I will have you slowly take over all of my duties, starting with going to the Alphas Meeting in my place.

'' Dad do you really think that I am ready to go to the Alphas Meeting; I mean I am not even an alpha yet.'' I ask. 

''Do you know about the packs defense system? Do you know how many rogue sightings and skirmishes we have had this year? Furthermore do you have knowledge about the packs finances and needs?''

''Yes, but...''

''No buts my child, I couldn't think of anyone who is more prepared than you to go to the Alphas Meeting in my place.'' He smiled '' I must however suggest that you and the guards will have too leave by 7 tonight to make your plane.
