Chapter 10. Sadie. I stared over at the bed, my fork halfway to my lips, and my mouth dropped open. “Um, did he just fall asleep?” Rogan glanced over at the bed and shrugged, then got back to his dinner. “It was good of him to cover the cost of the room.” I put my fork down and picked up my glass of wine, taking a large sip and enjoying the warmth that spread through my body as I swallowed. “Not just the room cost. He paid for all of it. Last week, the next two weeks, all the food and drinks. Everything.” I still couldn’t believe he’d done it. All without any expectation, even without wanting a “thank you.” Rogan’s eyes bugged. “Wow.” I nodded, then picked up my fork again, scooping up the mushroom risotto and bringing it to my mouth. I knew how much this room, these meals, cost.
