I worked all day, setting up contracts for the men from Hunters who were coming with us into the underground, then working on a way to hand over all business control to Shadow while I was gone.
That wasn’t easy, and it involved an intense conversation with my reluctant cousin. Shadow didn’t want anything to do with my money, business, or apartment, but I convinced him it was necessary.
After all, who else could I trust with everything my father had built?
By the time closing came around, my brain was fried. I collapsed against the back rest of my father’s executive chair and groaned. “f**k I’m tired.”
I pulled the elastic from my hair, tugging at the messy bun I’d twisted my hair into, letting the heavy strands fall around my face.
