​Growing up, I was obsessed with fairytales, but the "happily ever after" of Cinderella always felt a little too perfect to be a coincidence. Think about it. She is mistreated by everyone, then a fairy godmother conveniently appears out of thin air to save the day. And that glass slipper? Leaving it behind at the ball only for it to fit her, and only her, in the entire village? It all felt a bit too calculated.
