CHAPTER 4
ADIRA'S POV
It's been 4 hours since I was embraced by my mate, and it's been 4 hours I've been in the castle. Which isn't all bad. Well, besides the fact that my planning hasn't even begun.
I'm wasting so much time!
"Here." Elijah handed me a cup of warm tea, as gently as he could. As if hesitant that one wrong move will end it all.
I only sighed as I took the cup from he's hands and placed it on the coffee table.
"Eli-"
"No. Don't." He cut me off as he sat on the opposite couch from me.
"Please, let me just enjoy your company for now." He's voice broke as he kept he's gaze down, I only nodded in understanding. Knowing this was a hard and overwhelming situation for him, but also for my wolf. So, I agreed.
"Okay." I smiled softly as he's head rose from looking at the floor, giving me a a soft bad sad smile.
I can feel my wolf's sadness spreading through me like a wild fire, and it hurt.
Sadness like this was worse when I found out my who my father was. And that sadness burned, but not like this one. Not like the look my mate held as he tried to show me tenderness.
After a while of no words, and pure silence. Elijah decided to speak up.
"You left. And now you're back...what actually happened to you?" He asked as he's eyes held so much pain, not just for me, but for himself?
"I-"
"Where is she?!" Where's Adira!?" I heard a growl of impatience coming from the hallway. That's when the doors were flung opened and in came Jace.
He looked so mature...so, different.
He's eyes scanned the room and when they landed on me, he speed walked he's way to me in a blink of an eye. Now hugging me tightly as if I will disappear.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting for this day!" Jace mumbled into my hair, seeing he was now taller then me. Unlike last time when I was taller.
That's when I felt Jace get gripped off me forcefully, by no other then my mate.
He let out a deep growl, he's eyes pure gold, he's breathing heavy. Only to realise he's actions after a few moments of silence. Pure awkward silence.
"Sorry." He mumbled which I just lightly smiled to. Jace only looked shocked, as if not believing what he was hearing.
".It's fine..." Jace chuckled nervously, which made me point a brow of confusion. Since when was Jace so nervous around Elijah?
That's when he looked like he remembered something, as he's eyes lit up.
"Oh, Adira! I almost forgot." Jace then stepped to one side, giving us a full view of he's mate.
"My Queen." Blaine bowed, that's when she snapped her head back feeling uneasy.
"I-uh. I mean." Elijah then pulled me close to him, by holding my waist firmly in he's hold.
"No need to stutter, Beta. She is your rightful Queen." Elijah replied with a strong tone, one that held authority.
I looked towards Jace who's teeth gritted from the mention of rank for he's mate, instead of her name. I'm gonna take a hint and say he was offended.
Which made me look up to my mate who only held no emotion besides a glare.
What the actual f**k?!
"Yes, thank you. Alpha Elijah for understanding." Blaine bowed, which Elijah ignored.
What a prick.
"It's Alpha King. I'm not one of your friends to be informed with little respect." He's voice cold and stern.
Okay, he's more then a prick. He's an arrogant prick!
"Y-yes, Alp-"
"Blaine, is it?" I cut her off, before she could get anymore embarrassed then she already was.
Even though I already knew her, because she was one of my wolves. I couldn't just stand here and let her feel so belittled. This was the whole reason I became the Rouge Queen.
"Such a beautiful name." I complimented, making her look more at ease and less nervous.
"I see my brother has been favoured by the moon goddess to have such a mate to make him smile." I explained with a warm smile of my own.
Jace stopped glaring at Elijah and turned to me and smiled, as he snaked he's hand around Blaine's waist.
"More then favoured." He replied with a wide smile as he pecked Blaine's cheek. Staring at her with so much love.
I can tell he really cared for her, which made feel good letting her go to be with me. Even though she was my spy for the castle, at east they were happy. You know?
"Well, I think it's time for you 2 to go. Curfew is getting close." Elijah spoke up, ruining the happy moment I just created.
I only let a frown form on my lips as I saw Jace look hesitant to leave, but frightened to disobey he's Alpha. Which pissed me off, seeing Elijah was never like this before.
'But then again you did hurt him!' My wolf scowled at me. Making me cringe, because at the end of the it was true.
I did this to him.
"We will see each other tomorrow. I promise." I put my hand on Jace's shoulder, assuring him I wasn't going anywhere.
At least not until the problem at hand was fixed.
"Okay..." he mumbled.
"Goodnight, Adira." Jace waved from he's shoulder as he started to walked off.
"Oh, and good night Alpha King Elijah." Jace said to Elijah, making him clench he's teeth, as he's hold on my waist tightened.
Geez, thanks for that Jace.
"Beta." Elijah acknowledged.
