Chapter 14: Edie Is Disconcerted It was a long hard winter, not like anything Edie had come across before. The previous winter they had spent travelling from Bombay to Srinagar. Now, wintering in the gompa was another completely different experience. She was fascinated by the gompa, which is what the llamas, or monks, called the monastery.
