I jogged out of the pack hospital with a happiness filled heart. Hudson wasn't going to make it alive and even if he did survive the next few days or weeks, he wasn't going to last a month.
The journey back to my room was a fast one. I laid down on my bed and began to think and calculate my next moves.
Since Hudson had no child of his own to succeed him, it meant I was the only one left to succeed him. I couldn't help grinning from ear to ear as I pictured myself as the next Alpha of blood moon pack.
My face suddenly lost it's colour when a thought crossed my mind. What if the pack members rejected me as their next Alpha because I was a woman.
I quickly shook my head. They wouldn't dare to oppose me if they so much as loved their life. But just as I suppressed one negative thought, another one reared it's ugly head.
What if his Beta or one of his favorite men tried to overthrow me?
I sat up immediately. They might really try to do that especially that Kael of a Beta. I've noticed many times how his eyes always glinted each time he stared at the Alpha seat.
But he shouldn't even try to think of doing anything funny because I wasn't going to sit back and let that happen. Never.
I had patiently waited for this time to come when I would finally free my people from s*****y and pains, and when I finally got the opportunity, some annoying jerk try to get in my way. Never would I sit back and let that happen.
I rolled to the edge of my bed and pulled out my journal and pen from my drawer.
First off. I needed a well drafted plan that wouldn't look so obvious to the pack members. Even though at that time, hopefully I was already the Alpha, I still shouldn't act rashly to avoid unnecessary fights and bloodshed which in that case would be the blood path slaves.
After I was marked the Alpha, I would abolish all the rules Hudson set down concerning the slaves not talking to the higher ups. From there I would slowly start to reduce their workload.
Hopefully, it wouldn't look so obvious right because at that point I was so excited at the mere thought that I was finally going to free my people from Hudson tight grip.
I dropped down my pen, satisfied with my plan I closed the journal and kept it back to where it belonged inside the drawer then I moved to the only window in my room.
I pushed aside the white stain free curtains aside and stared at the beautiful stars outside. The sight just like any other days was peaceful and soul soothing to me.
“I'm getting close to achieving my dreams.” I murmured before I dragged the curtain close and retired for the night.
Morning came very quickly or was it because I was so happy and overjoyed?
With a bright smile on my face I rushed to the bathroom and had a quick bath.
It took me more than thirty minutes to look for something nice to wear, but I finally settled down for a blue short gown that stopped just below my knees.
I didn't even bothered doing my makeup, I just let down my hair, took a full glance of myself in the mirror then stepped out feeling refreshed.
I answered the greetings of the guards and maids I came across more cheerfully than ever much to their surprise because I had never really answered any of their greetings before.
Not because I hated them, what was I even saying? I hated them, as long as they were under Hudson and a member of blood moon pack, they were my enemy.
I turned left and headed for the dry-cleaning area where I was sure Rosa was.
I was about to open the door when I overheard voices that sounded like they were having an important discussion. I took off my hand from the doorknob and pressed down my ears to hear more of what they were discussing.
“I really wished guest would be coming to the pack more often.” One of them said.
I pressed down my ear more tight as their voices became faint.
“I heard the guest coming are all men." Another one said.
“Are they handsome?" One chipped in.
“How am I to know that?" The other voice snapped.
All the voices I heard, none of them sounded like Rosa's, maybe she wasn't in there with them.
And who were the guests they were referring to? Hudson didn't really had any friends in his strong days, so who were the people exactly?
I sighed and raised up my head when my brain didn't bring forth any answers to the question I kept asking myself. Just then a guard came up beside me startling the hell out of me.
“Sorry to disturb you Luna." He said but that didn't lessen the scowl on my face.
“Say what brought you to me." I snapped
“Beta Kael said to come inform you that Alpha Hudson has been discharged from the hospital."
I nodded. “Is that all?"
He shook his head. “He said to also tell you that we would be expecting some guest later in the day, you should be in your nicest dress to welcome them." That said, he bowed and turned to leave when I asked him where the guest would be when they arrive.
He ignored me and left like I hadn't asked a question.
Feeling un bothered by his behavior, I walked away from the dry cleaning area but instead of going back to the pack's main house I took the path that led to the slaves quarters.
I needed to make sure they were in support of my plan to free them from the s*****y they were forced into.
The hot sun wasn't helping matters as it dealt with my skin before I got to the slaves quarters. I decided to first go to the mine land since majority of the members of the Bloodpath pack now worked hard labor on the mine. Young boys and girls, aged men and women that were supposed to just rest off the remainder of their lives were there.
There was no exclusion what so ever, as long as you were still alive you would be forced to work on the mine.
When I arrived there, the sun was already high up in the sky. I had to hide behind a building to avoid the alert eyes of the guards.
Darn it. I should have exercised patience till it was late in the night. Now ther was a high chance of me getting caught by those idiots dressed as guards.
Thirty minutes passed and I was already losing hope that one of the slaves would come my way when I saw a female slave giving signs to one of the guards that she was thirsty.
My face brightened up a bit. Even if I couldn't get a hold of as many as five of my pack members, one was enough. She would help pass the information and get the approval if this in full support of it.
As she advanced more closer, I started to show signs, frantically whisper yelling 'hey' to her since I didn't know her name. But that didn't help get her attention instead it helped in getting me discovered.
“Who is there?" The not so sensible guard questioned.
I scampered off without looking back for a second. I ran till I caught a glimpse of the slaves quarters.
Already tired and dizzy from the little run, I didn't see the person coming till I bumped into him.
He held me by my shoulder to steady my balance and said with the most calm and sexy voice ever. “Watch where you're going sweetheart."
I looked up to see the face that had such a sexy voice and just as I had thought, he was so handsome that I couldn't help but be captivated.
He looked absolutely stunning. Tall, muscular. He radiated this undeniable presence that commanded attention. His features are chiseled perfection, with sharp angles and contours that highlighted his strength and masculinity. Every aspect of his appearance seemed to be sculpted.
From his defined jawline to his piercing eyes, which seemed to see right through me. His physique is honed, accentuating his powerful build, and there was an aura of confidence surrounding him that made him impossible to ignore. My eyes moved down to his parted lips and I subconsciously licked my lips.
I forgot all about the guard that was chasing me, all my focus was only on the man that stood before me.
I felt hot all over my body with different thoughts that raced through my mind as I continued to stare at his inviting lips. I could feel my beating three times the normal heart rate.
Just as I thought I was finally going to have a taste of his lips, I heard a male voice called out. “Colton, what the f**k are you still doing there? Haven’t you seen everything you wanted to see? Samuel and I are leaving in the next sixty seconds, so hurry up if you don’t want to walk all the way to meet Dad.”
What a sweet name. I thought as I continued to stare at his face
Colton sighed and released my arm which I had forgotten he was still holding onto to.
He flashed me a sweet smile. “I hope we meet again.” He said and winked at me before he turned his back on me and left.
