RAINE’S POV
My eyes remained on Chloe waiting for an explanation. My mind, on the other hand, kept thinking about what I just saw. I was stuck in a haze in my mind, reliving the hug like a flashback from a movie scene.
I found the situation weird. Not necessarily bad. But weird enough to make my stomach twist a little. I don’t why it made me feel off. Maybe it was the way she looked…softened, a side of her I hadn’t seen in ages. Or maybe because it felt like I was missing out on something I should know about them.
I glanced back at Chloe, watching as she pulled away from Otto and walked back in my direction.
“Are you going to tell me what’s going on or are you going to keep guessing?” I asked.
“What if I do both?” She teased.
Chloe sighed when it was obvious I didn’t find it fun
