I sat in my new corner office at Fredrick Construction, reviewing the employee files and client lists that Patricia Torres had prepared for me. It had been one week since I revealed myself as Bernard's boss, and I was ready to implement the next phase of my management strategy.
The employee interviews had been incredibly revealing. Three different workers had told me about Bernard's habit of yelling at staff when projects went wrong. Two female employees had described inappropriate comments he made about their appearance. And almost everyone had mentioned that Bernard often took credit for their ideas while blaming them for his mistakes.
