Chapter 10: Day 4 - New Experiences

519 Words
Morning arrived, and Day 4 on the island began. Everyone woke up before sunrise and gathered near the shore to watch the sunrise together. The cool breeze and orange sky made the moment peaceful and beautiful. After some time, Henry and Tracy called the kids near the water. “Come on, let’s catch some fish,” Henry said excitedly. The children looked at each other in confusion. “We don’t know how to catch fish,” Alex replied. “We already brought food.” Henry laughed and handed each of them a wooden stick. “You kids eat normal food every day. Today, let’s eat something natural with our own effort.” He told them to sharpen the sticks and explained how to catch fish. “Look carefully, aim properly, and throw the stick quickly with full strength. It’s not easy, so watch first.” Henry quickly caught a fish and showed them proudly. Rickey became excited and quickly stepped forward. Holding the sharpened stick tightly, he focused carefully on the water for a few seconds before suddenly throwing it with full force. Splash! The stick hit perfectly, catching a fish on his very first try. Everyone froze in shock. Even Henry looked surprised because catching a fish that accurately on the first attempt was almost impossible for a beginner. “Wait… do you already know how to catch fish?” Rockey asked in disbelief. Rickey slowly picked up the fish, staring at it with a shocked expression. “No… I’ve never done this before.” Thinking it was easy, the others also tried, but it was much harder than it looked. After many failed attempts, Alex finally caught one, followed by Rockey and Vickey. Only Julie couldn’t catch any fish. Disappointed, she quietly stepped back. Seeing this, Vickey walked toward her. “Here, I’ll help you.” He gently held her hand and showed her how to aim. Together, they finally caught a fish. Julie blushed slightly. “Thank you for the guidance.” “No problem,” Vickey replied with a smile. Henry silently noticed the feelings between them but said nothing. Meanwhile, Tracy, Stacy, and Samhitha prepared the fire and cooking items. After catching enough fish, everyone cooked and happily ate together. A few fish were left aside for night. Later in the afternoon, Henry and Tracy went to explore nearby places using their raft. The kids stayed back, talking and sharing memories while waiting for them. But after several hours passed, everyone slowly became worried. Finally, after four hours, the raft appeared in the distance. Everyone ran toward them with relieved smiles. Henry laughed. “No need to worry, guys. We’re back.” As evening arrived, they lighted the campfire again and sat around it together. Tracy brought the fish they had saved, but unfortunately they were spoiled. Henry smiled and said, “Looks like we’ll have to eat the food you kids brought.” After eating and spending some peaceful time near the fire, everyone returned to the hut and slept. And just like that, Day 4 on the island came to an end.
