100% Honesty

**Ian's POV** Ari looked up at me and waited for me to continue. "First, wolves have things called mates. It pretty much means that someone was created for you. The electric feeling we get when we touch, is one of the things that mates feel." "We are mates?" "Yes. For wolves, we feel the pull instantly. Not wanting to be away from our mates. An all-consuming need to care, protect, and love them with everything that we are. For humans, it takes a little longer to feel the pull." "So that would explain why a part of me didn't care that we were moving so fast." She nodded as if sa question was answered. "With mates, it is usually a situation where they find each other. They mate and mark each other and then are inseparable after that." "I know what mating probably consists of." She blushed for a moment. "But mark?" "It is where we both bite the most sensitive skin between the neck and shoulder. Showing all the other wolves that you are taken." Ari sat there digesting what I had told her so far. Next hurdle to get through. "The second thing you need to know is that Marcus is an Alpha." "What is that?" "Marcus is the Alpha of our part. Meaning that, he is ultimately in charge of everything regarding the pack and all the members in it. My mother is the Luna." "What is a Luna?" Ari asked. "A Luna is in charge beside the Alpha. She helps him run the pack. With all decisions regarding the wellbeing of our people. Basically a mother to all." I took a moment. Now for the fun part. "I was to become Alpha when I found my Luna. You are my mate, you are the future Luna of my pack if you accept the mate bond." Ari's eyes went wide at that last piece of information. "I am expected to be a mother to a pack full of werewolves?" Her voice held a high amount of disbelief. "My mother will help you in whatever capacity you need. We don't expect you to know our ways." "That is a tad more information than I thought I was going to get." Ari said quietly as she looked down at her hands. I was very hesitant about the last piece of information. Do we have to tell her now? Dante asked. Yes we do. We cannot keep this from her. She might reject us when she finds out later and thinks we lied or, worse, tricked her. "There is one final thing." I looked down at my own hands. She said she wanted us, but after this last one I expect her not to accept the mate bond. "What is it?" She asked when I didn't come right out with it. "In order to be Luna of our pack, apparently, I would need to turn you. I didn't know. I just found out yesterday from Alpha Marcus." "Turn me into a werewolf?!? How is that even possible?" "There is a ceremony with our elders that needs to take place and while they are doing the ceremony I have to bite you. Not to mark you, but to turn you." Ari didn't ask anymore questions. She sat staring at the pool of water for a long time. I didn't want to push her. This was a very big decision for her. She needed to really think it over and decide if it was something that she wanted. "Can you please take me home?" She finally asked. I nodded and stood. Holding my hand out to help her up. She did not take it. I felt a pit in my stomach at the action. She just found out a lot of information. I would be surprised if we even saw her again. Dante is ever the optimist. Ari and I walked back to my truck parked by the road. It was a silent drive back to Ari's apartment. When we finally pulled up, she put her hand on the door handle. She didn't turn towards me. "I have a lot to think about. I need time to process what you told me tonight. I will need to get my car tomorrow, but then I am going to need a few days to myself. Please." "Whatever you need Ari. I am not going to force you to do anything." She nodded once and then jumped out of the truck. Ari felt so far away. I wasn't sure how to bring her back to me. Time. That was all I could give right now. If she came to me with more questions, I would answer them. But for now she just asked for time. I pulled away from her apartment after I made sure she was safely inside. It was a solemn drive back to the house. After I pulled in the garage and shut the truck off, I sat for a moment. Replaying the evening. It was super late and I figured my parents and uncle were in bed. As I walked into the house I noticed that all of the lights were still on. I could hear voices coming from my Uncle Nick's office. I walked to the voices and found all 3 of them standing around the large wooden desk. "What is going on?" "The elders were alerted that your mate is human. We need to get them prepared for the ceremony if she accepts. It takes some time to prep." "Ari knows everything." I said, defeated. I couldn't stop myself from letting my weight fall onto one of the chairs. Everyone looked at each other and then at me. "What happened?" My mother finally asked. "I asked about her high school relationship. I was curious. The guy was a real ass to her. Dante came forward and Ari saw my eyes shift. From there she wanted to know everything and meet Dante." I heard my mother suck in a breath. "Did she reject you?" This question came from Alpha Marcus. "No. She said that she needed time to think." "Well, that is a good thing. She didn't go running and screaming." My Uncle Nick said. "Just give her some time honey. She will come around." "I wouldn't be so worried. But hearing that, I am going to have to turn her into a werewolf. I am literally asking her to become something else in order to be with me and I don't know if she is going to think that it is worth it." I let some of my worries come through. I did not know the outcome of all of this. I just know that Ari needed all the information before her in order for her to make the right decision for herself. "All we can do is give her the space she asked for and let her come to her decision, whatever that is. Just know if she does choose to accept everything. It was not an easy choice for her." My mother said, walking over and putting her hand on my shoulder. "I understand that." I said with a heavy sigh. "I think I am going to try and get some rest." I told everyone and I stood up and headed for my room. Once inside, I was left to my own thoughts, and Dantes, of course. What are we going to do if she rejects us? I don't know. My heart broke at the idea of losing our mate after we found her, and she is perfect. No one would ever compare to her. I decided to quickly jump in the shower to relieve some of my aching muscles. It was not going to be easy to stay away from her. Sleep took a long time to consume me. When it finally did, I had nightmares throughout the night. All the same, in some way, shape or form, Ari rejected Dante and I. I woke up a few times in a pool of my own sweat. Each time I prayed that my nightmares would not come to fruition.
