Chapter 6: Trials

Sneezing into my handkerchief because the weather was so cold outside, i and Xavier have been at the pool and talking.

“Did you notice this new girl in school staring at me?”.

I asked Xavier while we were walking inside, I’m so going to Claire when I see her.

“What girl?, so you weren’t listening to me when I was talking but you were staring back at random people doing their things?”.

“ you are getting me wrong….

Another human bumped into me while running and I felt this sharp pain on my arm, I thought it was a pin from her dress so I didn’t bother.

“She didn’t even say an apology….so rude”.

“You are at my room door now do you want to come in and see me change into dry clothes?”

“No-no-no I would wait right here for you, when you are done you can help me find Claire”.

“Okay…if you say so princess..give me some minutes”.

A minute passed, two..and I started feeling like I was sleepy, all of a sudden every person around started getting blurry, I tried to walk but I stargered.

What is happening to me??!!!….

I definitely couldn’t do the work alone because Miss Smart lady was looking at me suspiciously.

“Hey there, I want you to do something real quick for me, if it’s done well I would give you a hundred box”.

“Aiit what is it I’m doing for you ma’am ?”

“You will tell no one of anything that happens…you understand?”

She nodded her head in affirmation…

“Okay..take this syringe, you see the girl over there with a black dress?”….i pointed to where Aradia was when she wasn’t looking at my direction but was talking to him….I mean Xavier.

She did her job and got rewarded as I promised still gave her the stern warning of telling no other soul.

You should be wondering who I am…..Yh I get it’s normal to be curious…..I am charlotte the girl Mrs Erchidna hired to get the talisman from Aradia you get to find out the reason later.

The drug started taking its effects on her…with the universe being on my side she was left alone outside his door….after some minutes she slumped on the ground… i signaled my accomplices to seize this opportunity….

The car was parked in position at the car park while the other joined me… he lifted Aradia and place her on his shoulder ….I wasn’t nice enough to place her at the owners seat , she was placed d in the trunk where she belonged.

Leo was no longer subbing, we talked and laughed….we were still outside when we saw some persons..two guys and a girl all dressed in black, one of the guys had someone who looked unconscious on his shoulder.

“The girl must have drank her brains out…lol you should have written at the entrance of the building DO NOT DRINK TOO MUCH…I laughed.

“Can you recognize any of them”? Leo asked

“They don’t look familiar they even look hideous ….

Everything started getting off when the girl was placed in the trunk!!!

The dress was looking like the one I gave Aradia!!

“Ooh my goodness!! Have you seen Aradia today? I stood up the adrenaline in my system had reloaded.

“How would I have seen her when I have been here since the party started.

“Leo I think the person they are carrying is Aradia..that’s the dress she came in with …I cried.

Before Leo could say a word Xavier surfaced

“Ooh Claire here you are I guess you have seen Aradia she was searching everywhere for you, she was with me a while ago tho , I came out nd didn’t see so I figured she must have seen you”.

“They just kidnapped Aradia”!!

“ Can we all stop talking…the car is moving” leo said.

We all rushed into one of Leo’s car, he took the wheels and drove as fast as he could.

“It looks like they know we are trailing them,….this is all my fault I shouldn’t have left her alone”….Claire cried.

“Crying won’t help now let’s just try to get her safe”…Xavier chipped.

“Xavier please be quiet, you had her with you and you could not protect her”.

“Excuse you!! You should be apportioning blames at your girlfriend and not me dude”.

Leo had and still has feelings for Aradia but she declined and turned down all his proposes and advances towards her because she knew Claire like him so much.

“We are being trailed by those godforsaken wolves, David You have to step more harder on that accelerator and go as far as you can”.

“Yes ma’am”

In a twinkle of an eye the police Siren was heard all over and they were sorrounded.

Our car trunk was opened and Aradia was let to come out, she was unconscious due to the the drugs effects. We were dragged into the police van and they took off.

Aradia was carried and taken back to Leo’s house, it was already 4am in the morning, most students were drunk and saying gibberish, some were asleep in different positions which was indeed a funny sight.

“I caused all these, I shouldn’t have forced her to come with me” Claire said amidst tears.

“Hey..hey you don’t have to blame yourself as you can see now she is fine and sleeping, whereas you didn’t plan this kidnap and you also didn’t know something of this nature would happen” Leo said while trying to console Claire.

“Come to think of it, it was charlotte I saw with those guys, why would she want to take Aradia into hostage”? Xavier said while pacing around the room.

“Her parents would like this at all and she is going to be in big trouble because of me, we can’t even take her home now because of her state, taking her home is close to impossible right now”.

“Don’t bother Claire we are coming with you to drop her home by dawn, so I would advice we rest our heads for a bit, my birthday was almost ruined”.

“I’m staying here with her, you two can go somewhere else”.

“Excuse you!!? Xavier are you expecting me to leave the room for you and best friend to breath the same air again? Because last time I checked you let her get kidnapped under your watch”.

“Xavier there are empty rooms let’s leave the girls”.

>>>Blair’s POV Guys!!! She’s awake”

My brows knitted In confusion, who was she calling? She enveloped me I’m a huge hug as a big grin spread across her face.

“I’m so glad you are awake. . Aradia “. She’s whispered in my left ear. . . I hugged her back too only just the I realized how sweaty I was and how hot I felt.

“ I’m fine claire. . . I am fine”

Two guys barreled into the room as if on a race, it was Leo and Xavier. . .a smile broke out on my face.

“I’m fine guysss”

But they both stood, one at my left and the other at my right, they each held similar faces lined with concern.

“How are you doing Aradia “? They both asked simultaneously.

I smiled at them and they sharply turned to each other and Leo let out a low hiss. Xavier just raised an eyebrow and I could swear his eyes got darker and he . . .just growled? As in like a dog or a wolf ?

Claire looked at both guys uncomfortably and let go of me but held tightly to my fingers.

“Well now that you are awake we should get you home, then you will have to explain how you got in that type of situation . . . .

She tilted her head to the side and whispered. . .

“By the way I am so so sorry Aradia, if I didn’t insist you wouldn’t have been in this kind of crazy situation, honestly you are my best friend and I never want to bring you harm, I would never do that to you”.

There was so much sincerity in her eyes and they glistened with unshed tears.

“It’s okay Claire, I’m just glad I have a best friend “. . . . I sighed

Leo let out a low grumble. . .” Well, let’s get you a trouble magnet, I am sure you are in for more trouble at home”. He chuckled and we all laughed except Xavier he just kept staring wordlessly at me. . .I shivered

This is gonna be a long ride home. . .I muttered to myself

Xavier cleared his throat loudly “you are obviously in good hands, I’m gonna head home, I have a hundred calls from my folks at home”.

He shifted his legs uncomfortably like he didn’t really want to go. . . I locked my eyes with him as if sending him a mental message to tell him he would be alright, he nodded, stood up and with both hands shoved deep down the pockets of his jeans then he walked away, somehow my heart ached I felt like it would burst into flames and what made it worse he never looked back for once.

*Xavier’s POV*

My heart was racing, I still couldn’t understand why and my wolf was whining almost crying with the thought of having to leave Aradia, it was inwardly fighting with me but I had to fight back before it backed down and allowed me to leave her side.

I still didn’t understand why it seemed like I was physically hurting, when Leo rushed to her side earlier my wolf had almost taken control and would have killed him. These sort of feelings of possession over a person were new to me, dure I was protective over my loved ones especially my mum but this was downright crazy.

My wolf seemed to act like. . .like he owned her, every male who came close to her felt like a threat and her very smell was intoxicating, it was like a drug that I wanted to get high on, my wolf didn’t seem to ever have enough of her and the fear and adrenaline that had pumped through my veins when I thought those people successfully kidnapped her wasn’t normal.

Sigh. . . I’m going to have to discuss this with my mom.

“Son”!. . . I heard a low voice in my head for the 16th time. . .yes I was counting. . .”come home now, I will not repeat myself again”.

It was my dad communicating to me through our mental bond, Well I guess that conversation with my mom was going to happen even faster than I imagined.

I walked passed the guards and opened the mighty doors of the pack house which my parents loved, I could immediately sense their presence I didn’t have to announce mine because they probably sensed mine as well.

I sat down on a chair and awaited their arrival. . . The hairs in my back stood on edge and I was compulsorily drawn to my feet.

“Greetings, father . . Mother “ I nodded to them

Yes they are my parents but they were also my rulers and leaders. My fathers eyes glistened with anger as he told me to sit down, my mothers arm was intertwined with his. Whenever my dad was angry my mom always knew the right thing to do to make him calm.

I often envied their love story, the way they seem to understand each other’s moods, I would like that someday with a beautiful girl, blue-eyed, with a soft voice, slim with generous curves and waterfall dark hair, I would like that someday with a girl like . . . Aradia.

Woah!!

Where did that thought come from, lately I found myself thinking about her and I can’t help it, it seemed like my wolf was enjoying these thoughts. I really need to do something about this Aradia stuff, it’s becoming disturbing, I think I’m going crazy.

My dad was sitting wide legged and his both hands clasped in each other while my mom sat beside him, one arm on his thigh rubbing it as if calming him.

“Xavier “. . .my mothers ever calm , soothing voice said “you have found your mate and you thought it was meaningless to tell us”? Hey eyes showed hurt and disappointment and i dare not look my dad in the eye right now.

“Mate”? I asked with my eyebrows scrunched with confusion at first and then I started laughing, I laughed so hard that my tummy began to ache, I bowled over and used my hands to wrap my mouth to reduce my laughter, wiping the stray tears that had gathered by my eyes I raced my head and watched the grim expression on their faces, then I realized they weren’t joking.

“I have not found my mate, I don’t know how she looks like, how she smells, where she lives, so tell me how I would mark mu unknown mate and decide to keep it away from you both”?.

My father turned to my mom “beloved”? There was so much confusion written on her face “that’s not right son, my crystal ball has never been wrong, you have met your mate and it says you have marked her as well, if the ball says you have then you do not need to lie about it”.

“But I’m not lieing mother”!!!!!!!!!!!!! I screamed

My father motioned me be still and sit down with his hand, my heart had already begun racing …..my father signified my mom to be calm as well and this time he placed his arm on her thigh to calm her. He looked at me with same green eyes as mine, I knew he was searching my thoughts and I let him . .there was nothing to hide.

“Is there any girl you met recently or perhaps you have met her for a while, a girl who seems to make your heart race, a girl who excites your wolf, whose smell is pleasant to your nose, whose eyes you could get lost in forever and ego in your innermost depth you feel you give up your life in a heartbeat if it meant saving her?

As my dad kept speaking, my eyes widened because one name kept floating in the peripheral of my mind. . . ARADIA. . . . How didn’t I figure out? I looked at my both parents . . . . This is going to be a long discussion.

*ARADIA POV*

It’s been a month of self discovery, a month of realization, I went from being a regular girl with normal friends nd family . . .to discovering I was a mate and a girlfriend to a soon to be Alpha. I mean I used to believe in werewolves like I believed that ghosts existed right now I don’t think anything is impossible.

I discovered I am a half witch and my lovely friends are very accepting of who I am and my powers, I now understand why my ‘mom’ does not seem to love me, I have an entire pack of werewolves who would one day be under the rule of Xavier and I, my cheeks got red from blushing just by thinking about him.

It was nightfall already, no one was around to see me as I caressed the talisman around my neck, Xavier’s mom has been really helpful so far, teaching me to control and make best use of my powers. .we still haven’t figured out the symbolic meaning or use of the talisman my mom had wrapped around my neck.

Blair’s didn’t believe it was just a piece of junk like Xavier once said, it had a reason and it had powers. .holding it I felt this warmth in my palm as I ran to my favorite place in the world. . . The woods.

That was the last thought in my head I remembered before bumping into a tree that I believe wasn’t there earlier, my thoughts became dark and I saw dots of black. . ..the last thing I head were voices saying

“We have got you now Meredith. . .there is no escape this time “.

I tried to tell them that I wasn’t Meredith but I blacked out.

Xavier” I whispered please come for me!!!!!!!
