Uncle!

She hopped out of the car, with her little one in her arms, and handed the cash over to the cab driver. Taking a moment to admire the massive building in front of her, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction. Sure, buying this apartment had emptied out her savings, but what other choice did she have? The way they treated her daughter back at the old neighborhood was just unbearable. She could have moved elsewhere, but who knew how the people there would treat them? She didn't want to take any chances. No judgment here, and it's conveniently close to her daughter's kindergarten. Her daughter interrupted her thoughts by exclaiming with wide eyes and a big grin, "Mommy, are we gonna stay in this huge building?" She couldn't help but smile at her daughter's excitement and replied, "Yep, sweetie, we're gonna live right here." Her daughter clapped her hands enthusiastically in response. "Mommy, let's go inside right now, super fast!" She chuckled at her daughter's enthusiasm and started heading into the building. Once inside the elevator, she pushed the button for the 12th floor and waited patiently as her daughter bounced with excitement in her arms. They both finally heard a 'ding' sound, signaling their arrival on the desired floor. The elevator doors opened and she noticed a guy standing outside, engrossed in his phone. She stepped out with her daughter in her arms, and the guy entered the lift without even looking up. But then, both of them were startled by the sound of her little girl shouting, "UNCLE!" The guy finally looked away from his phone and turned to see a woman's back with a smiling little girl in her arms, facing him with the same eyes as him. Alessia's eyes widened as she heard her daughter shout. She quickly turned her head to face her daughter, who was in her arms, and opened her mouth to speak, but before she could say anything, she heard her daughter's excited voice "We are going to stay here uncl..." her daughter started to say, and she turned back around to see that man but the lift suddenly closed, leaving him inside. Alessia turned her head again as she heard her daughter whining, "I didn't even get to talk to him." Frowning, she asked, "What's the matter, little girl? Why did you shout like that?" She began walking towards their apartment and heard her daughter say, "Mommy, he is too big and I want to be friends with him." This startled Alessia, as her daughter usually only socialized with children her own age. The fact that she wanted to be friends with that man left Alessia feeling bewildered. She shook her head and headed towards their apartment door, telling her daughter to place her finger on the locker for emergencies. She didn't mention the fingerprint to her daughter and simply used the card to open the door. Once inside, she still carried her daughter in her arms. Her daughter squirmed and pleaded, "mommy, leave me, leave me." Chuckling, she obliged and put her daughter down. She watched as her daughter ran around the spacious apartment, wide-eyed and excited to explore everything for the first time. It may be a normal apartment, but it's big enough for the two of them. It has a main hall with an open kitchen, two bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and a balcony with a large mirror. The furniture was all there, so they didn't need to buy anything apart from groceries and necessary clothes. Her daughter is like super excited and just sprinting through every single room. She's cracking up at the sight and calls out to her daughter, like "Anya, slow down baby, you're gonna tire those little legs out!" She heads over to the couch and plops down, taking a quick second to close her eyes. But then her daughter pops up out of nowhere, shaking her and jabbering away in excitement. "Mommy! This place is beautiful, are we really gonna live here?" Her mom gives a nod and replies, "Yes, sweetie, this is gonna be our new home!" That's all it takes for her daughter to jump off her lap and bolt towards another room. She closed her eyes, feeling relieved that they wouldn't have to deal with any more unwanted talk. She wasn't sure how they would manage to stay here, but she was determined to work hard and give her daughter a peaceful life. She sighed, got up, and went to the kitchen to fetch some water. She called her daughter, saying, "Anya, baby, come here!" Her daughter ran into the kitchen and she lifted her up, placing her on the counter. She asked, "Baby, mommy will order some food today. What do you want to eat?" Her daughter thought carefully and pouted, saying, "Mommy, I want ice cream." Hearing this, she shook her head and said, "No ice cream, baby. You'll catch a cold." She added, "Chocolate pancakes." Her daughter nodded and said, "Okay," giving her a thumbs up. She smiled, made her daughter drink some water, and then carried her to the hall. They both sat down on the sofa and she took out her phone from her pocket to order some food. Once they placed the order, they started chatting and playing games on the phone. Suddenly, she heard the doorbell ring and assumed it could be the delivery guy. She quickly got up from the couch, handed her phone to her daughter, and walked towards the door, hoping to find the delivery guy on the other side. To her surprise, she found an incredibly good-looking guy standing there. She couldn't help but gulped, as she took in his handsome face, resembling a Greek god with his ocean blue eyes, sharp nose, thin lips, and chiseled jawline. Suddenly she snaps out of her thoughts when she sees his raised eyebrows. She blinks and silently curses herself for openly checking him out. Feeling embarrassed, she clears her throat and asks, "Can I help you?" Hearing her that man said "ma'am, your door number is 205, not 206," she frowned and asked him, "So, what?" She saw him shaking his head and saying, "You need to check your door number before ordering something. The delivery boy left your food in front of my door and left." Hearing this, she made an ohh face and finally noticed that he was carrying a food bag in his hand. She slightly apologized, took the food bag from his hand, and reached for the door to close it. However, before she could do that, she heard her daughter shouting 'UNCLE' and saw her running towards him. Her eyes widened when she saw her daughter hugging his legs. She called out, "Anya, let go of him!" However, she noticed that a handsome man was crouched in front of her daughter, gently pinching her cheeks. He playfully asked, "Who is this cutie who always calls me uncle when she sees me?" Upon hearing this, her daughter replied, "Uncle, you're so tall! I want to be your friend." An embarrassed expression took over her face, while the man chuckled and gave her daughter a high-five. He reassured her, "Sure, little girl, we can be friends." Her daughter's face lit up with a wide smile and she eagerly asked, "Uncle, what's your name?" The man looked up at the woman standing before him, who was looking down at him, and responded, "Ryan." Her daughter's smile widened and she exclaimed, "Ryan uncle!" He smiled back and asked, "So, what's this cutie's name?" In her baby voice, she shyly replied, "Anya." He smiled even more at her bashful face. "Okay, Anya, your uncle has some work to do and we'll meet tomorrow, okay?" HE said to her daughter, who nodded and said, "Bye, Ryan uncle." Upon hearing her, he replied, "Bye, Anya cutie," and stood up, only to realize the woman was still staring at him. He nodded at her, and she nodded back. Then, he looked down and waved at the little girl, who waved back before he turned to his door and went inside. She stood there, thinking, 'He's living in the opposite door,' but snapped out of it when her daughter clutched her hand and pulled her inside. Shaking her head, she closed the door and they both headed towards the kitchen. She put the bag of food on the counter and started placing it on the table. They both ate while she fed her daughter and they chatted with each other. After they finished dinner, they went to their bedroom and collapsed onto the bed. She laughed when she saw her daughter copying her, and she hugged and kissed her all over her face, saying, "Go to sleep, my little girl. You did so much today, running around everywhere." In response, her daughter pouted and showered her mother with kisses all over her face. As they talked, they both drifted into a deep sleep. Anya woke up to the sun shining on her face and tried to cuddle her daughter, but freaked out when she realized her daughter wasn't there. She called out for Anya but got no response, so she quickly got out of bed and started looking for her daughter in every room of the house. Panic set in when her daughter was nowhere to be found, and she rushed to the front door only to see that it was wide open. She completely panicked and sprinted out of the apartment, only to be greeted by the sound of her daughter giggling.
