Chapter 16 - Steev's Shopping and Other Excitements

Steev's POV :

After my mother the one whom I started sharing all my feelings and started spending time was John.

My mind was filled with thoughts and I didn’t even realize that I reached the market. Straight away I entered the market. The market was very systematic. Fruits, vegetables, stationary shops, snack counters were arranged in order. There was a underground floor where there was fish and meat kept for sales. Firstly I went to buy vegetables. I purchased 1 kilogram of beans, tomatoes, cabbage and capsicum. After that I went to the fruits shop and purchased some oranges, bananas and apples.

I purchased all these items from the money which Shika had given me the other day. The money which she returned me some days ago. From a long time after I lost my job due to closure of the company; John was the one who used to buy groceries and other important stuffs required for us to live but that day I wanted to buy it for us with my money and promised myself as well that from next month onwards everything is gonna be alright and John and I will be sharing the expenses equally just like before. I was really happy after promising it to myself. More than just promising I was happy that I was really capable of fulfilling that promise which I made. At the age where all my friends were getting married I was just taking my baby steps. But as I promised to overcome my negative thoughts I thought positively that learning new things or starting a new phase of life doesn’t have any time period, we can start it at any age and any time.

As I was done with my vegetables and fruits shopping I thought of buying some chicken. I was not a expert cook but I wanted to try some chicken recipe and have it with John and Shika.

So I went to the underground fish and meat market to buy some chicken.

I went to the chicken counter and asked for 2 kilograms of skin out chicken. And the person gave me the chicken in less than 10 minutes. After taking the chicken meat I walked out of the market.

After coming out of the market I started walking back towards my room. On the way back to the room I thought of calculating the total expenses of the day.

In the vegetables shop the bill was 400 rupees, in the fruits shop the bill was 300 rupees and in the chicken shop the bill was 300 rupees. So total amount spent was 1000 rupees. Out of 5000 rupees which Shika gave me I spent 1000 rupees, so I still had 4000 rupees left with me. Shika entered into my life like a beautiful angel and gave me my own money. During the time when I had no money with me. At that time I remembered one thing which my mother used to always say, she used to always tell me that, “we should always help others when they are in need. If we help others when they are in need God will certainly help us when we are in need”. And I could see those wordings coming true. I had helped Shika when she was in need and later God helped me through Shika when I was in need.

At that point of time my Mother and God were one for me.

I had reached back to the room. First thing I did after reaching back to the room was I kept all the purchased items on the table and took my phone. I took my phone to browse some delicious chicken recipes from the internet. Therefore I sat peacefully and started browsing yummy chicken recipes.

After browsing for a while I found a great dish. The dish was Chicken Chilly. Firstly I read and noted down all the ingredients which are required for preparing Chicken Chilly. Later on I watched a video in which there was a complete method of preparing the yummy recipe. I watched the video and figured out the way of preparing the recipe and then went to the kitchen to start preparing it.
