WHEN GOD SEEM SILENT
Jeremiah 8: 14
“Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter the fortified cities, and let us be silent there. For the LORD our God has put us to silence and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
What God wants to destroy (silence) in us is every form of flesh and when He allows us through afflictions, it is to work out our faith in Him through patience and this is what will build our character in Him. When God seem to be silent, He is watching from a distance and brooding to release His unstoppable life, do not be complacent. When God is watching and brooding His life, we should be praying always with all kinds of prayers and supplications in the Spirit and remain watchful to the end with all perseverance and supplication for whoever is going through whatever form of afflictions, even as we are. The test of those who are called according to the purpose of God may not be an easy one because of the roughness of the road and sometimes even coming to a point where there is no road at all, but God’s grace is sufficiently sufficient to make a way where there seem to be no way. I have been there and you are reading, as the content of the inspiration of this book, was a product of experiencing the sufficient grace of God.
Where is God when we go through trying times? This is the kind of question atheist would always want to hinge their reasons of concluding that there is no God. Have you ever asked such kind of questions?
2 Corinthians 11: 23- 27
Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool, I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
Where was God when Apostle Paul was going through all these terrible times? I think somehow, one would without option left to ask if God is alive. God is not dead, even when we ask the question, if He is alive, “Why was He silent over all that Paul was going through?” God is not dead; He is alive, watching over us silently when we go through trying times. God carefully broods true life through the terrible times that we go through and if He had not allowed all of that Paul went through, the message as regarding the grace of God we preach today would not have been born. Sometimes, God’s silence is brooding in us life unimaginable to born His message (love), because this is all that matters, nothing else and until we know this, the world we are living can never be in peace.
For you to be a witness of God you must have to burn to be born of the spirit and when He is done burning you, He will pluck you out as a brand from the fire.
Matthew 26: 63
But Jesus kept silent. And the High priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God; tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!
Jesus’ silence most at times was His answer, “Be still and know that I am God” and it often arrest the conscience of evildoers who have presented themselves as being righteous. From my personal experience, I have come to know that when God is silent, He is working out something marvelously great, such that the resultant deliverance will take the world by storm and live everyone in awe of God’s wonder.
If God’s silence could inspire you to sing countless unsung songs, what will His talking do in your heart when He finally speaks out of the storm, even at the time when the only option left for you is to give up?
1 kings 19: 12
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
Stay up, don’t give up because God is able to deliver you from whatever you are going through and bring you out from that hopeless situation.
Isaiah 59: 1
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear.
The Lord being silent does not mean He is not hearing. God does not inspire a man to do anything (write books, songs, poem, etc.) to His glory without testing such man (vessel) with fire and each vessel (container to reveal His glory) via which He is to reveal His mind will be purified by fire to become fire brand and what will be left at the end will be glory of God revealed without any trace or form of the manifestation of flesh.
The manifestation of the sons of God is the function of God allowance.
The function of God’s allowance is the reality of His reward for the selected few going through the fire of afflictions, but instead of the fire burning them, they will burn with the fire just like the burning bush that Moses experienced it burning but not consumed to reveal Daniel 3:19 - 24.
What fire of affliction does is to purify our conscience and transform to renew our minds to knowing all things is possible in God who is able…
Daniel 3: 25
Look! He answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
How did king Nebuchadnezzar know the Son of God? Has King Nebuchadnezzar ever seen the Son of God before? If King Nebuchadnezzar have not literally seen the Son of God and He recognized Him in the fire, it then implies, his spirit bore him witness.
The world cannot deny the reality of what God will do through you even in that fire of affliction, because. God wants the world to see Him revealed fully in us, through us and with us when we go through the fire of afflictions, but remember, He was not talking in the burning fiery furnace, it was only Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that responded and their response was simply the testimony of God’s redeeming quality. Do you realize the king only noticed the fourth person? Even Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not even know that their savior was there present with them in the fire and that was why the fire did not consumed them, all they knew was that, even if He will not save them, knowing that He can, they added the probability factor, which could likely be the will of God. Their resolve was so unwavering, as they have chosen rather to perish with the fire than bowing down to that worthless idol. Some situations we go through in life are likened to the fiery furnace that cannot consume just the way it did not consume Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, because the Lord is our ever present help in the time of need and at this time, He will come to our rescue in Jesus name.
Sometimes afflictions will come to test you if you will bow down to worthless idols or God, because right in, the devil would want to give you simpler option on how to come out of it, into perdition.
You shall testify of God’s saving grace from your fiery fire of affliction in Jesus name.
Those whom the Lord has called according to His purpose may go through the fire of afflictions, but the fire will never ever consume them, except they allow themselves to be consumes with emotions and feelings and end up dragging themselves into extreme depression.
God does not want compromise and because He is an uncompromising God, He will test our stand (faith) with fire for the world to know that we cannot serve any other gods, except Him, the living God on whom we put our trust.
God will take you through the fire of afflictions in order bring you to a level of giving up self and yield your heart completely to the fire of the Holy spirit that will purify your character to perfectly align into His perfect will.
