THE GREATEST OPPRESSOR

The devil cannot even oppress you except through your thought, and by this, I mean he can only use fear to oppress you as you start giving attention to the happenings around you. The happenings around you can affect your thought if your focus is not on God and this would only be when you do not walk in faith.

Faith is simply focus on God, knowingly fully well that whatever that is happening will turn out for good since is thought for you is of God, not of evil, to bring to you an expected end.

God’s expected end might not be what you have desired, but at the end you would be grateful, because His thought for is for greater than whatsoever we must have desired.

If you do not walk in faith, you are already walking in fear, which means you are abiding in death and walking in faith is simply trusting and obeying God’s Word. The moment fear comes alive in your life you will become tormented. However, perfect love is what defines faith in God and that is what will casts out fear. Therefore, the devil is not even our greatest oppressor, fear is and do not think the devil is the one creating fear, by this I mean, you create fear not the devil. Fear comes alive in us as the counter of faith when we have accepted as truth the devil’s lies (i.e. that which is not true in accordance to the ordained Word of God), against what is written to now form your thought lines that will eventually drive your life. When we go through the fire of affliction, what torments most is fear of the unknown that will make us not to find rest for our souls. It will interest you to know that fear involves torment (1 John 4: 18).

Torment is the breath of the tormentor (devil) that comes because of inhalation of fear as oxygen, reaching the heart as a bitter and toxic bile, as lies now turned truth; anything that is truth becomes lies to you. As we accept the lie of the devil as truth, immediately reality will now come live as false evidence appearing real. Therefore, if what will set you free is the truth, lies will definitely imprison you on the platform of what looks like freedom, as your thoughts are captured with what was impressed you outside the thought of God. The moment you start tending the direction of contrary thoughts, you have subscribed to lifetime misery, but the good news is, what God has given you is not the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1: 7).

If the devil is not the one tormenting you, then you are the one tormenting yourself.

If the devil is not the one holding you, then you are the one imprisoning yourself.

Free you from self by allowing yourself to accept the truth of God’s Word and you will be free indeed.

Faith is not all about your effort, despite it calls in your involvement that will only play as trust and obey, but it is simply allowing God into the equation as He drives your actions and when God is involved, all you need to do is to hold your peace. The devil wants you to be troubled, but when you are at peace with yourself, he will be frustrated, but when you are frustrated, he will sit back, laugh at you to scorn, create situations that will torment you the more and watch you destroy yourself by yourself. When you are now involved in addiction like chain-smoking, drugs and all forms of illicit it, is it the devil that forcing you to do that? He captures you thought and gives instruction, provided you are not under the authority of God, you must obey; else, you will be tormented. When someone disappoints you and this, is a person you so much love and you decided to go to a wine bar or places meant not to, thinking that will help you cool off your temper and forget your worries, is it the devil that took you there? No! It was not the devil that takes you wherever you have decided to go or forces you to do whatever you have want to do. The devil power over you is simply your acceptance of lies; because he has not that power to force you do whatever you have not accepted of him, he can only deceive you into doing it. As you carry out whatever act you want to carry out outside God’s counsel, you will regret it at the end, and you will say it is the devil, because every evil drive is the devil.

Devil is simply the drive of evil.

Every evil influence comes from the devil, but that which you are doing, affects you, not the devil. You took yourself somewhere and something evil happens to you, and you are claiming is the devil? It is what you have decided for yourself, because even if the devil brings suggestions, you have the power to resist him in truth when you thoughts are inclined on God’s Word and he will flee from you (James 4: 7). How can you resist the devil, when you are so troubled and overburdened that you cannot submit the burden to the Lord? Your resistance of the devil is dependent on your submission to God, because if you do not submit to God, you cannot resist the devil and if you cannot resist the devil, he will never ever flee from you (James 4: 7, 8), which means, you are in his bosom.

One of our major problems when we go through trying times is double mindedness, which makes us to become unstable (James 1: 8).

Isaiah 43: 5

Fear not, I am with you; I will bring your descendant from the east and gather you from the west.

Isaiah 41: 10, 11

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Behold all those who were incensed against you, shall be ashamed and disgraced, they shall be as nothing and those who strive with you shall perish.

The reason why we go through trying times is because the devil has designed this as a program against the purpose of God and God has allowed it as a program to build our faith in Him and mature us to the full statue of Christ. The devil can stir up people through their contrary thoughts (strife, envy, jealousy, etc.) to incensed against you, even when are innocent and good. Even when you ever doing the right thing without any form of compromise, the devil will find a way of blackmailing you. There is often conspiracy when what evil minded people have seen in you that intimidates them, even without your knowledge and with such evil thoughts, they are being used by the devil to frustrate your progress, but the good news remains, “Those who strive with you against doing the purpose of God shall perish” in Jesus name.

Your marriage is ordained for no one to put asunder, therefore, anyone who is being used as a third party or whatever party to cause a split and is still fueling the problem so that peace seem impossible, will perish for your marriage to be restored, if they do not repent in Jesus name. Do not give room for fear or the devil will come and lord over your life and become your drive to fulfilling his evil intent. When you give the devil a single chance into your heart, he will torment you to hell and make it seem as if all is well with your ways of life and that is why instead of you being moved with love and compassion, you will end up in hate and passion.

Fears make the devil the Lord over your life.

Without fear the devil have no influence in your life and when you fear nothing, you shall seek those who afflict you and find them no more and those who contend with you, shall be as nothing, as nonexistent thing (Isaiah 41: 12), and this is because the Lord will hold your right hand and help you (Isaiah 41: 13). Whatever you are going through in life, I want to certainly assure you that the right hand of the Lord will pull you through and bring you out strong; He will be your present help in the times of need in Jesus name.

Sometimes when you are going through trying times in life, with terribly oppressions, all you need to do is to put the Lord to remembrance, not with complains, because you can transgress when you become complacent. I want you to know that He will blot out your transgressions for His own righteousness sake and will not remember your sins, if you have a broken heart, contrite spirit and repentant soul, God can never ever overlook you. When you are confidently confident in the Lord, you can now wrestle with Him (ask in prayers) by stating your case and He will give you the grace to violently possess your possession from the hand of the evil one. Remember God is faithful and true, and He will judge justly and recompense the wicked accordingly.

One of the limitations that the devil uses to oppress believers in Christ is insults. The devil uses insults to reproach men and even sometimes blackmail those who are good, to appear as evil, while the evildoers now appear as good.

The LORD is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
