“So… Jagger’s still out of it. I didn’t see you last night, where were you?” I asked Gage as we ate our lunches away the next day with just the two of us in the usual table.
“I didn’t go. Waste of time, really…” He munched on his burger.
“Oh. Hey, did Jagger have a girlfriend before or some sort of a serious relationship?” I asked out of the blue, not that it mattered.
“Huh? So you interested in him now?” He snickered.
“Well, he seems like a troubled teenager… I got curious.”
“Aren’t we all? Well, to answer your question… nope, I don’t think Jagger has been involved with any woman at all in his distressing youth. Now change of subject, can’t believe you got fooled by that William to attend that gay ball last night.” He grinned, this time.
“Gay? What do you mean?” I started to remember how the other ladies’ faces looked rather familiar even though I didn’t know them.
“The student council president is a sicko who organizes this boring party where some selected pitiful students dress up as girls as punishment for whatever they’ve done to anger him in any way.” Gage explained.
“What the…? That’s just mental. No wonder no one looked interested in all the other females last night… they’re just fakes. What was Princess even doing there all alone?” I sounded disappointed even to myself.
“Aren’t you a fake as well? Anyway, who’s Princess?”
******
“We tried to tell you, Brooke. Really, we did.” Ford spoke to me after class.
“Nah, it’s alright. I am so never going to attend that kind of party again… such a horrible memory.” I shook my head.
“See you later?” I said and he just nodded.
Off to my dorm room once again…
Prince was sitting on the couch and shot right up when he saw me enter the room.
“I’m going for a quick shower.” I stated. Looking at him reminds me so much of his sister… that it’s almost unbearable.
“Wait, I can’t take it anymore. You’ve got to know now… I think it’s unfair that I know what you are and---“ He spoke abruptly.
“I already know, Prince. I’m totally cool with it…” I cut him off.
“Wait, what? You do? You are…? Great, I guess.” He smiled.
“I think everyone knows that… you’re gay. There’s really no surprise to that but I accept you, man. Friends?”
“Bloody no! You don’t get it, do you? We’ve already kissed twice and I just don’t get why such a pretty girl like you would just act like---“ Prince started to raise his voice a little.
“Twice? I thought we just kissed once in the bath tub? Oh, right… I can’t believe I made a move on you last night. How’d you know I’m a girl in the first place?” I was being sarcastic.
“I just know, okay? So you knew all along too that I was pretending to be a girl just to get your attention?”
“I’m not that stupid, though I appreciate your efforts. I just played along to see where this is all going…” I sounded bored.
“You can’t just play with other people’s feelings, Brooke. I know the fact that you’re less interested in guys like me but you’re just being cold.” He looked deeply hurt that I almost felt sorry.
“Look, I’ll always be a player… no matter what. I don’t really like guys so---“
I spoke no more with his lips crashing into mine, a bit forcefully and just then, the door opened revealing Jagger once again which felt like déjà vu.
“Seriously… do I have to be always the one walking into you guys making out?!”
