5 It took the better part of two days to cross the border between Osnen and Terran. Most of that time was spent in the saddle, but we occasionally stopped to allow Sion and Demris to rest their wings. The further we got from Valgaard with no sign of pursuit, the more my worry eased. Hrodin was a dangerous man, and while I did fear the possible repercussions of angering him, we had much bigger things to deal with. Sion and Demris both seemed to be holding up well, but I was worried that they could get ill at any time. Demris’s fall on the mountain had proven that my apprehension wasn’t unfounded.
