Killed?!

Christiana’s POV “How ironic…” I retorted, earning a glare from my sister for a second before she trained her gaze on Sophia. The universe was never on my side, or this was my destiny to stay in this body forever. Allegra was supposed to come, but she was still at that friend’s place, leaving us with her sidekick, Milo. “Sidekick-“ “Call me that one more time, and I’ll mess up the ritual,” he said in a warning tone, and Sophia smacked my head, a hiss escaping my lips as I massaged the now sore spot. “You told me he was her sidekick. Was that a lie? Is he going to mess up?” At that point, I was about to panic, besides the fear of getting caught any second. Sam would be here any time since he didn’t say about a specific time to return. He just said he won’t be late. My eyes snapped to the clock, nibbling on my lower lip as the small arrow pointed at six o’clock. The big one was pointing at twelve. “I made sure he stays late,” Kylie reassured me and my gaze went to her. She was sitting on the bed while the three of us were sitting in a circle on my bedroom’s floor. Milo was between Sophia and me, his gaze was glued to an open book in front of him. He was trying to make us… I forgot the word. We are supposed to do something that will have my soul and Sophia’s soul out of our bodies. “What are we doing again?” My voice broke the hushed arguing between Milo and Sophia. “Astral projection,” both of them answered, and I don’t know why, but I started to have a bad feeling about what was about to happen. I watched as Milo got up, lightening the scented candles and placing them around the circle we made, setting the mood to whatever this was. A little shiver traveled down my spine, only getting me more worried about this little witchery session. As he was about to light the last candle, he stopped halfway, his eyes turning to pitch-black before returning to their normal dark greyish eyes. Sophia placed her hand on his shoulder, snapping him out of his state. He lit the last candle with hesitation, placing it down before returning to his place between us. “You saw something. This always happens to Allegra when she gets a vision or something,” Sophia pointed out, and he gave her a side glance. “Allegra will tell you everything when you reach her. Sophia’s soul will guide you,” he brushed her off, closing the book and handing it to my sister. “Just lay down, you two,” he ordered. I looked at Sophia, and she nodded for me to do whatever he said, trust him with this process. Both of us laid down. My head was at her feet and vice versa. I stared at the white ceiling, placing my hands on top of my stomach as I let out a shaky breath. The lights turned off, letting the few candles light the room dimly. “Okay, this is my first time Allegra let me do this, but I saw her do it many times,” he breathed, and I sat up with wide eyes, not even blinking at him. “What do you mean? Are we going to die? I know we shouldn’t trust-“ “Let him do the job. We don’t have much time to waste,” Sophia snapped at me. “You didn’t have to announce that, Milo.” She grumbled as I laid down once again. The knot in my stomach was getting tighter the more I thought about the consequences if this session went wrong. My soul could get lost like Sophia’s, and this wasn’t the worst-case scenario. “Close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Clear your minds out of any distractions. Think about how light is your soul… that it could leave this recent hosting body.” His words were slow, trying to guide us, and I tried to follow them. Taking in a deep breath, I closed my eyes, feeling a tingly sensation erupting in my body, my limbs going numb. I only felt my body as an anchor, weighing down my soul. “Follow the light, and there you will find Allegra.” Those were his last words before the darkness seeped in my vision, swallowing me to God knows where. Follow the light, and there you will find Allegra… there was no light, only endless darkness. I parted my lips, feeling a shudder escape past them, a cloud passing past my lips at how cold the temperature was. My hand covered my eyes immediately as a blinding light came from the darkness, its intensity increasing the more I walked towards it. A hand grabbed mine, and I was swarmed by warmth, moving my hand off my eyes. I blinked a few times to get my eyes comfortable with this light. My ears were ringing, getting fleets of hushed voices that stopped when I finally saw Sophia in front of me. Right next to her stood a woman with raven black hair and a pair of deep blue eyes. Around her body was a powerful indigo aura, sending some comfort and safety to me. I read a thing or two about the auras, their colors, and what they meant. I educated myself for what was ahead of me. My gaze went to Sophia’s green eyes. Her aura was deep shades of green, which meant service, she was supposed to service someone. “This is Allegra,” she introduced with a sweet smile, placing her hand softly on her shoulder. I lifted my eyes off her and looked at Allegra, who stretched out her hand for me to shake. I hesitantly placed my hand in hers, and her beautiful blue eyes morphed to black, just like what happened to Milo earlier. Her hand tightened around mine, and fleets of memories came into my vision, memories of me… of why my soul was holding tight to the living world. “You were killed,” she whispered in a solemn tone as I retrieved my vision, my eyes locking with her blue ones. I survived the car accident.
