Autumn
My heart broke when I walked into the room seeing my father laying there hooked to different machines.
Mom sat in the chair next to the bed holding dads hand as she slept with her head laying on the edge.
Slowly I made my way over to my mom laying my hand on her shoulder. She sat up startled looking at dad then she realized it wasn't him touching her.
Looking up to see who was there her eyes got wide.
"Autumn!" Jumping up she wrapped her arms around me pulling me into a hug.
Hugging her back as tears were close to falling.
I felt her shoulders shake she was crying breaking apart she cupped my cheeks.
"I missed you, I'm so happy your back!"
She mouthed slowly mom didn't know yet that my hearing had returned.
