Trapped

Land of the Dead Trapped in the land of the dead, his body was lying unconscious in his chamber. Unaware of where he is, he slowly picked himself up. Reaching out for his sword, he realized his sword was missing. “Where is this place?” he mutters below his breath. “Son!” a voice echoed from on top of a mountain. Swiftly he turned with his eyes fixed on the mountain. The mountain was covered in fog. He was not able to see who it was but he was sure the voice sounded like that of his late father, King Aba. Looking around the mysterious place, he noticed it’s quite different from his Kingdom. The trees surrounding him are quite different from the trees he has been seeing. The trees are not really rooted on the ground but a bit floating in the air. Fear gripped him as he became spellbound. The voice echoed again from the top of the mountain, “Son!” Unable to resist the call, Afa quickly replied, “Father is that you?” As he moves towards the mountain, he tried to see beyond the fog but it was quite difficult for him to see. “Where is this place?” he asked feeling lost and confused at the same time. As he was approaching the foot of the mountain, the mountain drew away from him.  “Oh-oh!” he exclaimed. At this time, he was much terrified that he couldn’t move a leg. It was as if he was pinned to the ground. He has never seen a mountain draw away from anybody before. He taught he was hallucinating or maybe dreaming. But he can feel himself and the consciousness of his surroundings, “Does it mean I am dead?” he pondered. Suddenly a hairy creature in the shape of a dog with red glowing eyes emerged from behind. Startled by the whimpering, he quickly turned around. “Oh no!” he cried out on seeing the creature. Drawing back from the creature, the creature ran towards him and quickly pounced on him. Opening its mouth, King Afa saw his sharp fangs that terrified him. He cried out loud grabbing the creature by the neck while avoiding its fangs. The creature struggles with him trying to bite him. From the top of the mountain, an old man descending and with a wooden staff, he slammed the creature away from King Afa. Not giving up, the creature quickly stood to its feet and started charging towards the old man. With a snap of his finger, his wooden staff turned into a sword. Before the creature could lunge at him, he took off its head. Unable to have a good gaze at the old man, whose flowing long white hair covered his face, Afa quickly jumped on his feet gazing intently at the old man. “You find it hard to recognize your own father,” said the old man as he parked his hair and tied it with a white hairband.  On recognizing his face and voice, Afa quickly threw his arms around him, "Father!"  >>  At King Afa’s Chamber Slamming Ada and Kay to the wall, the Dybbuk makes its way to where King Afa was lying unconscious on his bed. “Stay away from my son,” said Queen Afi in a quivering tone. Her eyes were constantly fixed on the Dybbuk but deep down her, she was really scared. But as a mother, she doesn’t want any harm to her son. With a purring sound, the Dybbuk slammed Queen Afi across the other side of the bed. Immediately the Dybbuk’s attention was fixed on King Afa who was still lying unconscious. Sniffing on the King; the Dybbuk quickly picked him up and jumped down through the glass window. “No!” Ada cried out as she quickly stood to her feet and rushed towards the window.  She saw the Dybbuk as it scaled through the walls of the palace. The guards that were on watch started throwing spears at the Dybbuk but none of them was able to hit the Dybbuk with the spear. “The creature is gone and it has my brother,” said Ada as she quickly turned towards the door. Without hesitation, she made her way out from the chamber and headed straight to the Palace Mew. Jumping into one of the horses, one of the top-ranking soldiers blocked her from leaving. With his head slightly bowed, he said, “My Lady, my men are already after the creature.”  “Out of my way Gerald,” said the Princess.  Gerald is the general leading the king's army and the entire army of Maxis. He has served the late king, and King Afa has wished to retain him as the general of Maxis. He has led many battles with the late king and came home with many plunder. He was the general that fought beside the late king and his friend Drew against the kingdom of Wex. Gerald is numbered amongst the bravest and the strongest in the entire Maxis just as his fathers before him. “We need someone to watch over the affairs of the kingdom my Lady. The King will have my head if anything should happen to you out there. Allow my men and I to handle the matter. We will get the king and bring him back in good health,” he said with his head slightly bowed.  “Fair enough. Get to work,” she replied as she slowly mounts down from the horse. “What do you think you want to do?” Queen Afi asked as she rushed out to meet with her daughter, Princess Ada. “Do you think I will stand and watch my two children be devoured by that evil creature?” Queen Afi added.  “Stop acting as if you care. Besides this is what you really want. You want the throne for yourself and Drew,” Ada harshly replied walking out from her mother. Kay who has been listening from the stairs leading to the main palace quickly paces up to meet with Ada, “What’s that supposed to mean?” she asked with her eyes fixed on Ada.  “We should be concerned about how to get my brother back,” Ada replied. Seeing one of the guards on patrol, she called him forward, “Set up a search team, find me the healer,” Ada ordered.  Taking a low bow, the guard replied, “As it pleases you, my Princess.” >> Gerald led his men down the woods as they galloped down the rocky road with their swords and spears in place. Suddenly a thick dark cloud appeared from the ground and covered them all.
