Choi Su-mi stood in front of her parents' house, suitcases lined up behind her. It was her first time in Seoul after three long years.
The memories of her childhood came flooding back as she stared at the familiar facade. The air was filled with anxiety.
As she approached the door, it swung open, and Mrs. Chen, the chief maid, emerged with a warm smile on her face. She rushed forward and enveloped Su-mi in a tight hug.
"Su-mi! You're finally here!" Mrs. Chen exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine happiness.
Su-mi returned the hug, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her. "It's so good to see you, Mrs. Chen."
Mrs. Chen held Su-mi at arm's length, examining her closely. "My, how you've grown! Come inside, your parents will be thrilled to see you."
With a nod, Su-mi followed Mrs. Chen into the house. The familiar scent of the house welcomed her as she stepped over the threshold. The living room was just as she remembered, with its elegant furniture and delicate ornaments.
"Su-mi's here!" Mrs. Chen announced as they entered the living room.
Su-mi's mother—Choi Hae-ra is sitting down in the living room silently staring at the television.
"Su-mi! What a surprise," Her mother exclaimed, feigning excitement.
Su-mi smiled nervously, her heart racing with anticipation.
"Why are you back so early? "
"I'm done with my courses, I wanted to cone back to Seoul to see Ji-han"
"Ji-han?" Mrs. Chen asked, has Su-mi nodded happily, fidgeting with the hem of her t-shirt shyly.
Mrs. Chen shook her head sadly, going over to a drawer and grabbing an envelope.
Mrs. Chen, with her usual efficiency, handed Su-mi the envelope. "Here, Su-mi. You should see this."
Su-mi took the envelope and opened it, her heart sinking as she read the words. It was a wedding invitation for her sister Choi Dawon, marrying her fiancé.
She felt a tightening in her chest, a panic attack creeping up on her. The world around her blurred, has she collapsed to the ground.

When Su-mi opened her eyes, she found herself in the living room, surrounded by familiar faces. Her sister, Her mother, and Ji-han were all there, looking down at her with a mixture of disgust and irritation.
"Su-mi, are you okay?" Da-won asked, her voice laced with false concern.
Su-mi sat up slowly, her head spinning. "I'm fine. Just a little dizzy."
Ji-han exchanged a glance with Su-mi's sister before turning his attention back to Su-mi. "You really shouldn't scare people like that."
Su-mi felt a lump form in her throat. "I just wanted to see you. I've missed you."
Her sister rolled her eyes. "Well, you certainly picked a strange way to show it."
Su-mi's heart sank. She had hoped for a warmer reception. Instead, she was met with ridicule and indifference. She fought back tears as she struggled to her feet.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
Her mother sighed impatiently. "You always were so dramatic."
Su-mi felt the sting of her mother's words like a physical blow. "I'm sorry for inconveniencing you."
Ji-han finally spoke up, his tone cold and indifferent. " Why didn't you call or text?"
Su-mi took a deep breath, trying to steady her shaking hands. "I came to surprise you. I wanted to see you."
Ji-han's eyes narrowed. "Surprise me? Why would you do that?"
Su-mi felt the tears welling up again. "Because I-i thought we were in love."
Ji-han scoffed, his laughter echoing in the room. "Love? You don't know the first thing about love."
Su-mi felt like she had been slapped. "What do you mean?"
Ji-han pecked Da-won who was holding his hand, a smirk playing on his lips. "I only dated you to get close to your sister, Su-mi. "
Su-mi felt as if the ground had dropped out from beneath her feet.
"Why didn't you tell me? " Su-mi asked, has she sniffed.
The three laughed at Su-mi's question, "What's the fun in that? " Da-won asked, has she played with Ji-han's hair.
"Tell me it's all a lie...Tell me it isn't true.. Is this some kind of prank? "
"You're sister was always the prettier one, I only dated you because of I wanted her. " Ji-han said, has he kissed Da-won's forehead.
She stared at Ji-han, her heart breaking into a million pieces.
"Why did you do it?" Su-mi's question was directed at Da-won.
Da-won shrugged, a cruel smile on her face. "Sorry Noona. It's nothing personal."
Su-mi walked closer to Da-won glaring at her, "What more do you want from me? You've taking everything I have. Are you satisfied? ARE YOU f*****g SATISFIED!?"
Da-won smirked, "It was really fun, but I guess I finally have what I want. "
Da-won wrapped her hands around Ji-han's neck has the stared at eachother lovingly.
" Su-mi, did you really think anyone would love you?" Hae-ra asked putting her hand on Su-mi's shoulder.
Hae-ra scoffed, " I didn't know you to be this delusional."
" Maybe that's because you didn't know me at all. "
Su-mi felt the tears streaming down her face as the full weight of their betrayal hit her.
"I don't deserve this. I don't deserve any of this."
Da-won tsked, has she leaned whispering into Su-mi's ear.
" Maybe, that's because you don't deserve anything."
Su-mi pushed Da-won away, turned and fled from the room, the sound of their laughter ringing in her ears.
She ran up the stairs and into her childhood room, slamming the door shut behind her.
She collapsed onto the bed, her heart shattered into a million irreparable pieces.
