*Alice* I was so close to him, my head tilted up towards his, every part of me attuned to him. His arms at his side, his feet firmly apart, his jaw clenching. I knew every part of him in that moment, it was like he was the center of the universe. The thought brought me up short. No one should be that important to me. Much less a man I’ve known less than a week. “What is this?” I asked him, even as I was unable to pull away, to even turn my eyes from him. “Why do I feel so compelled? Are you doing that thing to me like you did when I attacked you?” “What are you talking about?” I opened my eyes and stared into his. His once amber eyes now glowed a deep azure blue, shimmering the longer I stared into them like the vast open ocean, and I felt sure that I could lose myself in the depths.
