Liam POV ''Suspended?! Are you out of your damn mind!'' My father shouted as soon as we stepped into our home. I turned around sharply and snapped. ''Oh, please it's not even a big deal.'' ''A big deal?! Liam it's the first week of school and you got suspended!'' ''So what?'' ''You are supposed to act like a grown adult and get yourself out of trouble. For f**k's sake, you are eighteen years old and need to grow up. Why can't you be like Leo? He's always doing good in school, always staying out of trouble---'' ''---But guess what dad, I'm not Leo so why can't you just shut the f**k up and leave me alone.'' ''You listen to me!'' He yells. ''I'm going to say this once and I'm not going to say it again. You have one more strike, one more strike and I will dog walk you. Do you understand?'' I clenched my jaw and nodded my head, agreeing to what he said to me. He threatened me that he would send me to a military school if I keep up with this attitude. ''Fine,'' I whispered. ''Go to your room, and by eight you get ready for the banquet. No excuses. While you're at it, loose the hair. I don't want any of my sponsors seeing me with my son who claims to be a bad boy with that long hair of yours. I need to look presentable in front of them.'' ''Whatever,'' I mumbled under my breath. --------- Emilia POV ''That fight was insane!'' Chloe said as we enter Starbucks. We both decided to go to Starbucks after school and get away from the fight that happened near the library. Liam fought with Oliver since he was harassing me to hang out with him after school. I wasn't having it at all whatsoever, but luckily, Liam saved me from that mess. I don't think it was because of Oliver teasing him with his last name, I have a feeling there's more to it, and I want to know why. Chloe was sitting across of me, drinking her Latte and eating as I was drinking out of my caramel frappe. ''So, there's going to be a party for Friday Night football, wanna join?'' Chloe said. ''I don't know, Friday Night football isn't my thing Co,'' I replied in a dull tone. ''Emilia, come on, it's our senior year and I think we need to spend every moment in our high school year by doing everything that we haven't done before.'' ''So party?'' ''Well, duh. Party, go out, have fun, etc.'' ''Co,'' ''Emme, please, you don't want to be in your late thirties and regret it for the rest of your life.'' I heaved a sigh. ''Fine, I guess I can go. But, I have this thing later today with my mom and the Ball family.'' ''Oooo, second time huh?'' She wiggled her brows. ''It's not like that it's a banquet that James, Liam's dad is hosting. Plus, he asked my mom and she said yes.'' ''But it means something. It's a good thing right?'' I sighed. "I don't know.'' In honesty, I don't know. I had met Liam and don't know much about him. He's very mysterious. Always to himself, listening to music, and doesn't even bother to interact with anyone during Poetry Literature. Maybe the banquet would change my perspective on Liam. I don't know I'm so invested to get to know him. There's something about him that I don't know of and I'm willing to take a risk to figure him out.  ----- Back at home, I was able to pull out a dress from my closet to wear at the banquet. A light blue hue, a plunging V neckline with scalloped lace trim, adjustable narrow straps that lead to a cross back design and a floral lace bodice. The flared skater skirt flowered through my knees when I twirled around in circles. I placed my hair in a half-up, half-down hairstyle and applied a small amount of makeup. ''Mom says we're leaving in five minutes!'' Max echoed through the door. ''I'm coming!"' I shouted. Gathering my belongings, I sprayed perfume around me and left to meet up with my mom at the front door. We arrived at the Oak Renaissance within thirty minutes of driving. We parked near the entrance and got out collectively towards the luxurious venue. ''Wow! So cool!'' Max said, pointing at the colorful fountain.  ''Well look what we have here!'' said Angela, coming down the steps. She was wearing a red off-the shoulder-dress with a lace bodice lined along on her. Her hair was tied up in a bun with curls dripped down on her shoulder.  ''Angela it's good to see you!'' My mother said. ''It's good to see you too Claudine!'' She said back with a hug. James came down the steps too along with Liam and his... new look. Words left me. I stared into those bright green eyes burning with anxiety, and my heart fell silent. My brain stutters for a moment and my eyes take in more light than I expected, every part of me goes on pause while my thoughts catch up. Oh my gosh, he cut his hair.
