Chapter 4I turned down three offers for work over the Christmas holidays. I thought it was more important to get to know more about the only family I had left. Now, that I knew her, I liked her. We had had some good times when she was in town. So, when I got an e-mail from Rachel saying that a limo would pick me up at ten-thirty A.M. on the Saturday before Christmas, I started packing. I wasn’t sure what the weather would be like in British Columbia, but I knew it wouldn’t be a walk on the beach. I checked the weather on the web and packed as best I could.
