Emmett Cosby stood a few inches away from where I was stacking books back to their respective shelves.
Emmett is part of the middle school football team and one of the best at it. He was Coach's star player and an all around bully. For some reason, he and Julian couldn't get along even to save a baby squirrel in a rat trap.
Then again, it's not my best friend who always picks a fight with the other first.
What I'm wondering is why he was here when football practice is starting. I doubt he got lost either, he made a clear point last week in front of the class to steer clear of the place because he was afraid the intellectual people might rub off him and lose his ability to jock.
