My keys jiggle before I set them down on the trey atop the small table next to the front door. I call out for Levi letting him know I was here.
Before I could trudge to the living room, I hear the sound of small rapidly thudding footsteps growing louder and louder.
"Julian!" the little girl screams at she sees me from the top of the stairs. She comes running down barefooted making a beeline for me. Her tiny arms instinctively wrap around my waist and I awkwardly pat her on the back. "I missed you!"
Oh, s**t. I forgot we were babysitting for the night. I hadn't agreed to it seeing as she was not my mistress's kid therefore not my problem, but Levi was just too kind a brother to take the free loader in.
