Earl Shaw, Duke Carlstine, and Ron closed the curtains of their carriages. The soldiers at the entry post sighed in relief but soon fell into a dilemma. They could not decide who they should allow to enter first. Suddenly a horse approached galloping from inside the city and arrived at the gates. A man got off the horse, he had white hair and looked to be elderly. His face was full of wrinkles and his hands had loose skin. He wore the butler's coat which was black on a shirt and despite riding on horseback, the outfit was not crumpled at all.
