Cade sat in his living room and looked at Nick over the top of the beer he’d taken a swig of. He wasn’t going to have this conversation. Especially not while he was staring at a wall full of pictures from his military days that he’d put up because of Tess.
“Don’t know what you’re talking about.” Under normal circumstances, that would be enough to get his friend to back off.
“Yeah. You do.” Nick crossed his arms.
Damn it. Not normal circumstance. “I’m not talking about this.”
“She’s the best thing that ever happened to you.”
Cade agreed, but it didn’t change anything. “Doesn’t matter.”
His friend wouldn’t let it go. “It matters.”
