Chapter Two: Appointed as New King of Demon

Arda, Mortal World

A woman appeared from a portal that leads to the human world, in the land of the mortals called Arda. In the mountainous and plateau part of Arda, she appeared gasping her breath. Luckily, she escaped from the hands of the demon she never expected to sleep with. And it was the biggest mistakes she ever committed in her entire life as the then angel.

“I will stay here for the time being. I will hide myself and live here. I don't want that demon to snatch away my son. Not only that, but I will give birth to him here.”

She promised herself to live in seclusion once again. She left Indus for one reason, and that was to keep herself away from that wicked and sinful demon who stained her entire well-being. Nine months later, she has given birth to a son and called him Uriel. She nurtured her with intelligence, and showered her with love. She thought the many ways of an angel.

When he was five years old in Arda, Uriel felt something hot inside his body. His temperature goes up, and it won't cool down. His mother did her best to cure him, but she was unable to drop the temperature from his body. The woman feared for her son's situation. She never cried in her entire life, but seeing how his son struggles and in pain because of the unknown energy flaring up inside his body, tears fell continuously.

“Uriel, my son. I'm sorry. I don't know what to do to lessen your pain,” she said while embracing her son's heat. She doesn't care about the heat ten times hotter than that of the boiling water from a kettle pot.

The woman keeps on praying and even thought of asking for help in Arvayarta, but she remembered that she has long been forgotten. If she returned her kingdom, it would mean her death. And it made her blame herself.

Unknown to the woman, she was followed. The demon she fought with saw her struggles. The moment she left Indus and returned to Helio, his life was never the same. Seeing his son's situation, he put his hands on its chest invisibly while the woman continued to hug him painstakingly.

He was watching his son while doing his best to seal the energy ball inside his body. That was the least he could do before leaving them behind, and promised not to invade their privacy ever again. After all, it's about time to accept his role as the new Demon of King of Helio. The heat subsided, and the boy calmed down, sleeping soundly. He succeeded, sealing his power.

The woman felt something warmer from his son's body and saw him calming down. His body temperature has cool down, and she was grateful that someone answered her prayers. She wiped her tears and began taking care of him.

“Everything turned out just fine. I must go back to Helio. One day, that power inside him will kill her mother. And I will wait for that time when I can laugh out loud.”

He disappeared like smokes into thin air, leaving his woman and his son in a small house made of palm and bamboo trees, surrounded with tall trees and fruits, enough to live a life of peacefulness away from the capital city of Arda.

Helio, Demon Kingdom

“Announcing the presence of the next king of the Demon Kingdom, Asmodeus!”

“Hail to the next king, Asmodeus!”

“Give way to the new King of Demon, Asmodeus!”

Asmodeus in his demon form that has pointed horn, and sharp and long tails, wearing a black and red cape, and black fitted pants made of fine ashes and several minerals found only in Helio Kingdom was walking at the center of the long black and red carpet. His father was waiting in his throne to transfer the role of the king to him.

His eyes were glowing in red. Fierce and emotionless. He was staring straight towards the throne of his father while demons, monsters, and evil creatures were shouting, yelling, and calling his name. They were all bowing and making noises for his appointment. And the five hundred five years old Asmodeus stops walking and stands in front of his father.

“Kneel and bow,” his father said after stopping in front of him. He followed his order and knelt down, bowing. Then, he removed his crown and slowly putting it on Asmodeus head.

“Behold, Asmodeus. The new king of the Demon Kingdom. Accept this crown as the new ruler of Helio. Rise and accept your title!”

After his father put the crown on his head, he stood up and thank him then faces the demons, monsters, and evil creatures making noises non-stop.

“I hereby accept, the new title. As the new king of Helio, I will make sure to continue my father's legacy to uphold justice to our deceased families, comrades, and friends. I vowed in front of their grave and in my power to wipe out all angels in the land of Arvayarta!”

The incessant noise from the crowds continued. The words Asmodeus conveyed were pleasant to their ears.

“And wait, there is more to that. We will go to the mortal world and eat all of their hearts. As Darkness of Confusion, I will make their hearts confused between good and evil. Then, make their life miserable. Worst, they will kill each other, and we will kill them!”

Asmodeus father was smiling behind while watching his son keeps on raising his hands. The cheering continues,, and it made him glad that he was able to transfer the responsibility to his son. Now, it's about time to disappear in front of him. He walked in front of his son and faces him.

“Father?”

“Take care of the kingdom, Asmodeus. My wish has been granted.”

“What are you saying, father?”

Asmodeus was surprised when his father pinch his nose, holding his chin to open his mouth. And without a second though, releases a ball of energy from its mouth, transferring it to Asmodeus. As soon as Asmodeus swallowed it, his father started disappearing.

“I love you, Asmodeus.”
