* (June) Though hesitant, summer was creeping in slowly, and we had become extremely sensitive to even the slightest atmospheric changes. The house responded to the new season as well, abandoning her usual cold chaos and turning a bit sluggish and apathetic. Neither the house nor Edward cared for any sort of change that they didn’t have a hand in, and the summer air, knowing this, tried her best to be subtle. I simply tried to stay out of Edward’s way. He was irritable enough and I sensed that he was still feeling vulnerable. It seemed the more I knew about his past, the further away from me he drifted.
