Blood Ties And Betrayal

Chapter 8: "Family Ties" Alessia's mind was reeling as she tried to process what Damian had just told her. His own brother was working against him? She couldn't believe it. She had always thought that family was supposed to be a source of support and love, not betrayal. Damian's expression was grim as he led her to the study. "My brother, Victor, has always been jealous of me," he said. "He's always felt like he's lived in my shadow." Alessia's eyes widened as she listened. She had never heard Damian talk about his family before. "What happened between you two?" she asked. Damian's eyes clouded over. "We used to be close, but then Victor started to make some bad choices. He got involved with some shady people, and I had to cut him off." Alessia's heart went out to Damian. She could see the pain in his eyes, the regret. "I'm sorry," she said. "I can only imagine how hard it must be for you." Damian's expression softened, and he pulled her into his arms. "I'm just glad I have you," he said. "You're the only one I can trust." Alessia's heart melted at his words. She knew that she would do anything to help Damian, to support him. As they hugged, Alessia heard a noise coming from outside the room. It sounded like footsteps. She pulled back and looked at Damian. "Do you hear that?" she asked. Damian's expression turned cold, and he pulled out his phone. "I'll check it out," he said. Alessia's heart was racing as she waited for Damian to return. She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. When Damian came back, his expression was grim. "It's Victor," he said. "He's here." Alessia's eyes widened in shock. What did Victor want? As they walked to the living room, Alessia saw Victor standing by the window. He was a tall, imposing figure with a cold, calculating gaze. "Victor," Damian said, his voice firm. "What are you doing here?" Victor turned around, a sneer on his face. "I've come to talk to you, brother," he said. "About the family business." Alessia's heart was pounding in her chest. She knew that this was not going to be good. "What do you want, Victor?" Damian asked, his eyes narrowing. Victor smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "I want what's rightfully mine," he said. "I want control of the family business." Alessia's eyes widened in shock. Victor wanted to take over the family business? Damian's expression turned cold, and he took a step forward. "You'll never have it," he said. "I'll never let you have it." Victor's smile grew wider. "We'll see about that," he said. "We'll see about that."
