“What?” I whisper, staring at him, tears in my eyes.
“You heard me Katherine. If it is not Lia it would be you. You are the one who would benefit from all this. You are the one who would take Theresa's position. Just the same way you hugged me and caressed my hair and told me everything would be fine. You so desperately want my attention right? You thought that if you maybe pleased me for a while I would fall in love with you and forget about her right?”
He took a step closer, I closed my eyes, tears flowing more. “Answer me Katherine”
I opened my mouth to say a word, to give an excuse, to defend myself and nothing came out. Just choked on sob.
