immediately the king called out to the king maker he stopped and turned to face him.
"I am the king of Kojo kingdom and I make my decisions. You have not tried to ask me why I did what i did and you already moved to go and undo what I did. You have no such right and if you move against my words again you will be thrown into the same cell they are in" the King's threats calmed the king maker down and he sat quietly.
"I have asked you but you have refused to talk to me. What has the Seer done or do you not know that every Seer derives his or power from our ancestors and our ancestors derive their power from the gods. Do you want to unleash the anger of other Seers on us for arresting their leader? For I believe that the Seer of Bara has earned himself that position. He is a great Seer. Please my king. reconsider and bring him out of there. It would be better heard that you took him for questioning than to be heard that you arrested him alongside his son"
"Onochie?" called out the king.
"Yes my lord" answered Onochie.
"I hate to have my dignity played with. The said Seer you speak about insulted me and tried to kill me. I want to send a strong message out there to other Seers like him, for them to learn their place and their limitations. I can not continue to endure their insults and their pride. They have developed this mindset that they have the same equal right with the kings of this lands. Even if they must challenge the authority of other kings they must not do the same with me. I am going to explain to you what happened; I went to his shrine to talk to him about my inability to conceive again after the birth of Kote and he insulted my manhood and my wife. I tried to make him understand my position as the king and no matter what the gods might be telling him he had no right to insult my position. He did not want to listen, instead he allowed his son to insult me too. I am not going to allow such a man to be walking freely. You will not be happy if you see your king's name being dragged in the mud would you?"
Onochie shook his head and the king stopped talking. Onochie stood up and went to inquire about the queen but her maid came out to tell him that she would not want to be disturbed. After another attempt to see her failed Onochie decided to go to the cell where the Seer was kept on other to know the whole truth but when he got there he was told that the king had given a strict order not to allow anyone see the prisoners. The king maker sighed heavily and having thought that the king of Kojo was making a grave mistake decided to visit Aboli, Aboli was the Prime Minister of Kojo kingdom and he was known to have a scar on his left side of his face which nearly covered his left eye. He sustained the injury when he lost his second wife to another rich and powerful man in another kingdom. The episode of those days resulted to the scar. The wife had poured hot water on him during the times they would quarrel and fight over the wife's cheating spree. After the bathing of the hot water Aboli was in the royal treatment bed when he heard that his wife had run away to live with the man she had been cheating her husband with. This revelation made Aboli's sickness to worsen and last for long. When he later recovered be refused to talk about his wife and refused to heed the advise of some of the royal authorities to go and fight for his wife. He had said to them, "A man does not run after a woman who does not want to stay with him. A man only accepts a woman whom he had went for and had accepted to stay with him. If a man runs after a woman who wants another man the said man that runs after that woman will be the one sustaining wounds. I will not be a party to that. Let her go to the man her heart accepts"
When Onochie got to his place he saw that he had a woman visitor and the woman was almost half naked and going about the house. Onochie was not pleased with the sight and when he complained to his friend, the Prime Minister the Prime Minister laughed and said, "You sent a message that you are the one coming. If I had received the message from another I would not have allowed my woman friend to be moving about like that but since you are the one I know that you will understand"
"Understand that?" asked Onochie.
"Understand that ever since my wife left I have not been able to find myself another woman to trust. I do not trust women. I know that there are many women out there but for my wife whom I trusted and who suddenly developed a strange character and began to fight me because of another man I lost hope of ever trusting another woman in this life. I like watching this woman friend of mine move about. It makes me not to think so deeply about the betrayal I had suffered"
"Well, I still believe this is not the best way to have happiness. Happiness comes from within and not from outside. I pray you receive this happiness. Now this is not why I came. There is trouble in the palace" said Onochie. Aboli raised his face to look at him suspiciously, wondering what had happened in the palace.
"What happened in the palace?" Aboli asked.
