At a point Kote could no longer stop waiting for Chere to come for her but something inside her kept reminding her she must keep on excising patience and that Chere would come for her and take her out of her land where she did not belong. She was sure she did not belong in the land of Kojo and there was nothing anybody could say, not even her mother, the mother queen could say to make her change her mind.
Kote was standing on the balcony of her father's second building. The second building was known to be empty because those living in it all died during the war between Kojo and Atuo. The war had lasted for years and on the cause some of the Kojo people who could not enter the palace for safety resorted to staying in that building.
