I watched his back as he walked away from me. My heart won't stop from pounding too hard. I was taken aback because of what he have said.
No, I can't feel it. I can't remember anything that could easily justify his sentence. I don't want to accuse myself because that's the last thing that I should do.
"You're lying," I whispered to myself before getting my coat.
The marbles around my unit glows as if it was the only source of light. I walked out from my unit and decided to go to the rooftop.
When I stepped out of the elevator, the cold wind of unfamiliarity blowed and touched my bare face and the stars welcomed me.
This night seems to be more peaceful and calm. As I watched the silent serenity of darkness, I heard someone's voice.
"Do you remember now, Amalia?" I heard a familiar voice from behind.
The sarcasm she put on her voice did not escape my bad affiliation with this world.
"You need to remember everything, Abrantes," Hadley added as she stepped closer.
Just by that angelic voice, my world started to spin again. How ironic it is to have an angelic voice yet, her words means evil.
After a few seconds, the pain within my head stopped and that made me breathe drastically. It somehow tightened my chest. It's a good thing that I managed to lift myself despite of the raging pain.
"Do you remember what you have done?" she asked me.
I felt another pain in her eyes. I can sense a deep longing, broken feelings and hatred. I focused on her eyes as I tried to examine her thoughts.
"I can't remember anything," I honestly told her.
She looked at me with raging eyes. He laughed sarcastically and crossed her arms. She's also wearing the same cloak with Xipher and Matthew. I looked to the left side of his cloak. The same with Xipher, her name was embroidered underneath the familiar logo.
Seeker, Hadley Arrisa Meteiroal
"You're lucky because you can't remember anything, Amalia. Guess what? the reason is because you're bound to forget about every memory you gathered when you commit any deep sin," she added
"How?" I asked her.
I saw two glowing orbs within her eyes. Her green magnificent eyes made me felt the power of nature.
"Ask yourself," she coldly said before leaving.
I sighed heavily before I decided to go back inside. I was bored and completely tired.
I caressed the riffle's structure in front of my unit's room and just like what happened earlier, the door opened. I immediately closed the door and roughly throw myself on my soft bed.
That night, I did not even felt hungry. I doze off to sleep after a few minutes of laying down.
The next morning, I lazily stood up and fixed myself. I was wearing a black tank top tucked in to my black high-waisted shorts with black belt. I examined myself in front of my full-length mirror. I look like a gangster.
I saw a cabinet at the corner. I curiously opened it and it made my eyes grew bigger. It's a collection of combat boots with the different styles and colors.
"Woah, it's fascinating," I talked to myself after I wore a black combat boots.
I remembered the cloak. Maybe I have one too? I tried to seek for it but I can't find one. I disappointedly left my unit without knowing where to go. It's a good thing that people tends to approach me first.
I innocently walked out of the elevator when it reached the ground floor. A familiar lobby welcomed me with tons of people.
I can see a lot of magnificent pair of eyes. Different colors and shades. How I wish I have them too.
I was taken aback when all of them bowed their heads. I was about to bow my head too when I noticed a familiar built on the entrance. He waved a bit and smiled widely.
I ran towards him and noticed his eyes. I can't see two different colors in his eyes anymore.
"You eyes," I told him while pointing my finger to his one eye.
"Oh, they're back to normal," he said and handed me something.
"What's this?" I curiously asked him.
Matthew just shrugged and gestured me to open the paper bag. The corner of my eyes started to crinkle with happiness amd excitement.
It was the same cloak with theirs. I noticed that everyone is wearing this. I did not even waste any more seconds and wear it.
"You look good with your cloak, Amalia," he playfully said.
"Don't look at me like that," he added
"Sorry for what happened," I told him.
"It's fine, Amalia. I understand," he smiled again but this time, it's too small.
I shrugged and never mind his expression. If you'll look closely, you can notice that the place is considered to be a city. There were buildings everywhere.
"Where are we going?" I asked him
"Headquarters," he simply said.
I just followed him and after a few more minutes, we entered a very huge building. There was a scanner in front of the main door. I saw a laser type light scanned Matthew's body. I noticed that the red light stayed on the upper left part of the cloak where our names was embroidered.
I unconsciously looked at my cloak and saw my name just below the logo. I almost curse when I realized that I belong to the highest ranks of this organization.
Lieutenant, Amalia Desi Abrantes
Legendary Sniper
I turned my gaze to Matthew. After a few seconds, the red light became green and the the wall opened for him. I was about to follow him inside but the door suddenly disappeared.
The light scanned my body and just like what happened to Matthew earlier, the red light stayed on my name. When it became green the wall opened again.
I saw Matthew waiting for me inside. I was about to say something when I saw Xipher at the corner. He's holding a pistol, aiming for a dummy target. When he pulled the trigger, a raging fire came out of his gun and when it reached the dummy, it suddenly burnt into ashes.
"That was fast," I unconsciously said.
"I will welcome you again to Neptuground. This is the headquarters of team Alpha. Remember that this is not just a simple Building, Amalia. It's also a training ground," he winked and pulled me somewhere.
Some where holding a dagger. I thought it was just a simple dagger. But when he threw it in the air, it suddenly turned into water and formed spikes.
Matthew left me for a while because he said he would get something on the other floor first. I guess we are on the training ground now. Huge space and almost all of the people were holding various types of guns and sharp objects.
"It's good to see you here again, Amalia," someone greeted me.
She smiled at me. She's also wearing the same cloak as mine. I focused my gazed on her name. I suddenly felt something familiar again. This is exactly how I felt when I saw Xipher's name.
Lieutenant, Chemeria Alayah Astronoum
"I'm sorry but I can't remember you," I said
Now, I badly wanted to remember everything. It's so sad that I kept on asking everyone who they are.
"It's fine, Amalia. I'm here to warn you about the traitors," she whispered.
My eyes grew bigger when she said that. Traitor? I'm even more confused now.
"Who?" I asked her.
"I can't tell you, Amalia. I'm sorry. Just be careful and please don't trust too much. You might regret that," she seriously said.
"But-"
"Amalia! I've been calling you," I heard Xipher's voice from behind.
I quickly turned to him. His brows furrowed and his eyes screams danger again. I can't even look directly in his eyes.
"I'm still talking," I said.
I turned to the person I was talking to earlier but I was surprised because she was gone. Where did she go?
"You've been alone here before, Amalia. What are you talking about?" he coldly said.
"But she was here earlier," I panicked.
He pulled me into the elevator and hit the rooftop. I don’t know if I will be scared because of what happened earlier. He didn't see the woman I was talking to? It must be her sister or cousin. Does he have invisibility power? Maybe Xipher didn't see him.
When we reached the rooftop, he came out first. I couldn't do anything else so I just followed him. He stopped at the edge part of the rooftop. I stood beside him. I managed to looked down even though it's quite high. It is one of the tallest buildings here so the beauty below is obvious.
"What are we doing here?" I asked him but he did not answer.
"May I asked you something?" I seriously told him.
He turned his gaze to me and crossed his arms. I'm quite nervous to ask him about this but I think he's the only person who knows everything.
"Why can't I remember anything?" I added.
"You've done something wrong," he coldly said
"And what was that?"
He looked at me darkly. I can sense hatred in his eyes. I badly want to know what happened. If I committed a huge mistake, I need to know what was that.
"You killed your best friend."
My heart suddenly skipped a beat. A glimpse of memory started to climb up my head. I trembled when I saw Alayah within that clip of memory. I was about to asked him for help but he added something worst that made me cry because too much guilt and pain.
"You killed my sister," he coldly added with so much pain in his voice and looked deeply within my eyes.
