The air became hotter and hugged Kess’ body with an insolent persistence as the little band traveled farther into the day. They entered a part of the woodland which became more open affording a gentle breeze to flow through the forest. She had been walking for what felt like hours and her thoughts of finding Mac gave way for a moment to the scenery she was traveling through.
