Izaak made his way back to the basement and found Gerald and Faith shooting a game of pool, Faith being ahead, but it was Gerald's turn to shoot. He looked up as Izaak entered and the look on his face made Izaak think he was going to come after him with the pool cue. Izaak gave him a half-hearted smile, which Rozen ignored.
"So, how's Lilith doing," he asked. Rozen didn't say anything; he just kept hitting pool balls. Izaak looked at Faith, who simply shrugged. Izaak shrugged back and walked to Lilith's room, finding her lying there with her eyes open, looking healthy. She slowly turned her head and looked at him with a smile. She took a deep breath in through her nose.
