A light rain was falling as Izaak parked the car where he had before, under a tree a short distance from the road. They started walking toward the farm when Izaak doubled over and dropped to his knees in the mud. "Izaak, what is wrong," Lilith asked. "Don't know. Pain. Not mine. Gail!" His eyes glazed over and he realized that he was looking through Gail's eyes and feeling what she felt; every bruise on his body ached and every cut burned. He saw Gerald on his knees in front of himself. Herself? Cain backhanded him, sending him tumbling backwards over his bound ankles.
