I couldn't believe I was finally done with my last day of high school, the day before graduation. Those four years really seemed to drag out, but now that it was over, I was eternally thankful. I didn't really have plans for college, because my dad said I could just go and work with him so that's what I was going to do.
I didn't think I'd be good at anything else.
"Hey, Clo," I turned around to see Lucas walking out of the school's main entrance and towards me. Lucas and I pretty much grew up together. My dad was the CEO of Silver Enterprises while his dad was the CEO of the runner up, GC Enterprises. There were many get togethers and dinners between our two families so we became close, almost inseparable, over the years.
I sat down on the top of the steps after seeing that there was no one here to pick me up. I had no idea why I wasn't allowed to take my own car to school instead of having to wait around for someone to get me. It was just another thing my dad freaked out over that I could never begin to understand.
Lucas sat next to me as people walked on by, "So what are your plans for the weekend?"
I cried inwardly, the thought of actually having to do important stuff this weekend really getting to me. If I had a choice, I would have stayed home and celebrated being a new graduate by eating junk food and watching movies all day. I had to look on the bright side and see that this was going to help my dad and others in the end though.
"Yeah, I have to go to a fundraiser in the Hamptons. Sienna's supposed to be there though, so that should be cool," I answered.
I hadn't seen my sister in a year since she moved to New York to pursue a career in fashion design. She was so cliché, but whatever floats her boat I guess.
My dad was supposed to be the main attraction at a fundraiser for a children's hospital, but my grandpa had recently fallen ill so he needed to be in France with him. Oh, the irony.
"Well that should be fun," Lucas said awkwardly, knowing that I was definitely not going to have any fun, "I'm going to Milan with my mom for one of her business trips."
I stood up as I watched Violet's car pull into the parking lot, "Have fun. Take pictures. I'll see you tomorrow," I said before leaving him.

The graduation ceremony was honestly nothing special. I was yawning, fighting to stay awake the entire time the valedictorian gave her speech. It was just way too strung out for my liking.
I was grateful that it was over and soon found myself having to push past a sea of people with cameras just to get to my family. I hated that my dad was as famous as he was because I couldn't go anywhere without running into the paparazzi.
My jaw just about hit the floor as soon as I found my family. "Sienna?!" I screamed and all but ran into her arms. Nobody told me she was going to be here today.
"Chloe!" She screamed right back and squeezed me as tight as she could. What the hell? Before I could question whether or not she had eaten at all in the time she was gone, she was already pulling away from me, "I want you to meet someone," she stepped aside and my eyes landed on some guy I was very suspicious of. I mean, who wouldn't ask questions when their perfect big sister brings a grungy guy to their graduation? "This is Lorenzo...D'Amico. He's Italian, Chloe," she whispered the last part to me excitedly.
What exactly was him being Italian supposed to mean? Wasn't everyone in New York Italian?
His hair was a dark brown of medium length that curled at the ends. Every part of his skin that wasn't concealed by clothing had tattoos covering it, including his neck which I found disgusting and don't even get me started on the gages.
I never expected this from my sister, but I guess New York can change someone.
I looked over at my very disapproving dad. I didn't want to be rude or anything, but I didn't know how to even say hi to him when all I could do was stare at his controversial image.
I was hurt more than anything at this point. My sister told me everything, always, and yet she never told me that she had a boyfriend. Maybe they just met.
"Hi, I'm Chloe. It's nice to meet you," I forced the words out, but I didn't think it showed in my perky tone.
All he did was nod uninterestedly at me in return.
What the hell did Sienna see in this goon?!
My dad grabbed my diploma in hopes to take away from this Lorenzo drama, "How does it feel to have one of these, Coco?" He asked.
It felt like I could maybe finally sleep in a day in my life. "It feels great."
Oh my god, I so did not want to go anywhere with Sienna anymore.

The flight to the Hamptons went exactly as I thought it would. My dad had a private jet and just stuck the three of us on there instead of flying commercial and making the trip even longer.
Sienna and Lorenzo didn't want me to sit by them so I didn't but no matter where I went I couldn't escape their disgusting proclamations of love to each other.
I'm sure this wasn't the type of love you're thinking about either. Nuh uh, this was so much worse. This was like bedroom talk.
I was grateful that we were walking up to the house my dad rented for us, so that I could get away from them and just go to bed already.
As soon as I opened the door though, I saw that that was just not going to happen.
Lorenzo pushed past me and walked into the house, Sienna following his every move as the two of them greeted the people already inside.
How did they get there and why were they there in the first place?
I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep here, so I closed the door and started wheeling my suitcase down the sidewalk. On the way here I saw a hotel that seemed nice enough and it was within walking distance too. I would gladly call that my home for the night.
I was about to take out my phone and call my dad to tell him about everything that's happened so far, but I became more aware of my surroundings in that very moment.
I stopped walking and looked up just as a man in a dark blue suit with nasty, greasy slicked back black hair stopped in front of me. He was giving me the hungry eye and I was left frozen, not knowing what to do. This was the type of stuff you saw in movies, it didn't happen in real life.
"Your dress is too short, eh fiore?" his thick accent sliced through the air as he tugged on the hem of my dress.
I took a large step back and prepared to scream for help when he got even closer and pressed something into my stomach. I looked down to see the silver part of a handgun. "If you scream, I'm gonna blow your bloody insides up," he said so calmly I almost thought I heard him wrong. "Now, you're gonna walk your pretty little self down the street without making a single noise and you're going to get into the backseat of that black escalade. Do you understand me?"
I was beyond terrified at this point. Tears almost started falling from my eyes.
I guess I hadn't answered him in time because he thrusted the gun even further into my stomach with one hard shove, "Do you understand, fiore?"
I nodded and he removed the gun slowly and stepped to the side.
"Now if you run or scream for help," he said quietly as we began walking to the car, "I'm going to kill you and every other person that even looks at you, yes?"
I nodded again.
We had reached the car too quickly and the man was already opening the door to the backseat.
I watched as a leg came out, trying to kick the guy, but he grabbed it and pushed the person back. "Get in," he told me urgently.
And again, I must not have moved fast enough because he picked me up and threw me into the backseat before slamming the door behind me.
I wasn't alone in here.
There was another blonde girl, but she had her hands tied behind her back and duct tape around her mouth.
I quickly leaned over the seat and pulled the duct tape off before the guy ever got back in the car. "Thanks, b***h," she snarled, "God, did you have to f*****g yank it off like that?!"
"I'm sorry," I honestly figured that she'd be happy to not have tape on her anymore, but I was obviously wrong.
The man got in the car and we both went silent. There was only a second or two between him starting the engine and then pulling away from the curb, definitely not enough time to try to make a run for it.
He glanced in his rearview mirror, instantly becoming angry again, "You took her f*****g tape off?! I swear to f*****g god if you try anything, I'll string you up by your entrails while you're still alive," I felt like that was directed towards both of us but more towards the other girl.
I nodded but she gave him an evil look, refusing to abide by his rules.
"Where. The. f**k. Are. We. Going!" She screamed each word, a kick to the back of his seat in between each one.
He brushed her off for the time being and smirked sinisterly, "You'll see."
