“Most young people leave Norstrom for bigger things, but they always find their way back to Norstrom,” Becky Sue said. She handed Dr. Palumbo a chart.
“If you need help with anything, just give me a shout.” Dr. Palumbo walked out to the waiting room and called her next patient.
“Everyone seems so helpful around here.” Nikki said.
“They are. It is no pretense” Dr. Baker said.
“There you are,” Junior replied, walking up to the desk with a sloppy grin on his face.
“What brings you here, Junior?” Dr. Baker asked.
Junior fixed his gaze on Nikki. “I came to see how the new doctor was settling in on her first day.” He winked. “Southern hospitality.”
Dr. Baker chuckled. “I see. There was no need to come all the way here. I’m more than capable of helping Dr. Phillips settle in.”
