Chapter Three:Full moon rising

something changed as the full moon neared.
khalid grew more tensed,his eyes more often than haunting gold,he flinched at loud sounds,he would not let her touch him any more.
One night,just two days before the full moon,he did not show up.
Amina waited for hours, worried and disturbed
The following day,she returned early ,no single sign of him
But she heard something deeper in the woods _growls ,like wolves fighting,and then a scream.
khalid screamed
she ran toward the sound ,but the first grew darker,the deeper she went, shadows moved,the trees felt alive ,then she saw him,she was a bit happy
But alas!,it was not khalid ,it was a beast
it was taller than any man,it's body covered in silver_black fur,claws the length of knives,it's eyes were gold
her breath caught
"khalid"?she whispered .
the beast turned
for a moment ,she thought he would tear apart,his body was shaking ,teeth bared,but he did not move an inch
instead it whimpered, backed away ,ran.
when she found him the next morning,he was already a human again .
Amina was confused but yet she still wanted to delve into the mystery
He was naked and covered in blood,she did not run ,
"I know what you are",she whispered
khalid dropped to his knees
"you should hate me".
"I Don't".
"you should fear me"
"I should,but I don't "
he looked up at her,tears mixing with dry blood
"I tried to stay away.but I can't,Amina I am cursed,my kind.......we are hunted,if they eventually find out that I have been seeing a human........."khalid stuttered
"what will happen" Amina asked in curiosity
"they will kill me",khalid replied slowly .
she stepped forward and knelt beside him .
"then we will hide it from everyone",she paused a bit ,then looked around her and whispered slowly "forever"
And that was when he kissed her.
some souls are too weird for the world........
Especially the ones who fell in love beyond the full moon
one evening as khalid slipped back through the forest after leaving her side,he caught the fainted rustle _a presence not his own from the darkness emerged Idris,one of the elders of his pack,his eyes burning like red coals.
"you walk too close to danger khalid",
Idris growled,his voice low and cold .
"the girl must be forgotten,our law is clear,and you know the price",
khalid throat tightened,he wanted to roar in defiance ,to bare his fangs again fate itself ,but he said nothing.
Idris swords were not a treat,they were a promise one of the entire packs would uphold.
and yet as he turned away,the image of Amina s smile lit a fire within him stronger than fear
he knew no matter the cost,he could not abandon her,his heart has been totally captured by Amina's for love ,once kindled,burns brighter than the moon
but for the werewolves love was not meant to be shared with humans,it weakened the spirit,blurred the line between beasts and man,and invited ruin upon both, khalid had heard those words since childhood,ringing like a bell in his head most times,but now they felt like shackles biting into his soul,he was caught between two worlds ,neither of which he truly belonged to
khalid tried hard to distance himself from Amina in those final days,offering her excuses as the night of the full moon approached , vanishing for hours,hoping the space would protect her.
but she noticed,she always noticed.
"you are hiding something from me",
she spoke softly to him one evening,her eyes sharp beneath the lantern light,her hands trembled slightly as she folded the parchment she had been writing on.
"you look at me as though you are here and far away all at once why khalid? what are you afraid of"?, Amina queried further
her words pierced deeper than claws ever could.
he longed to tell her everything,not leaving one word aside,to lay bare the truth of his curse,the burden of his bloodline,but the memory of Idris warning lingered on over and over again ,as did the fate of others who had dared to love across the forbidden line,death,exile,madness ,none ended well.
