Chapter 15

894 Words
It was early in the morning, and the cold breeze didn't seem to leave Hallray City, surrounding the place with fogs, made you want to stay in bed for another couple of hours. Wearing just a jacket and a black bull cap, he tried to take a small peek at Mr. Lauve's coffee shop from the outside. He can barely see from the fog that moistened the glass window. He looked like a stupid thief waiting for a perfect moment, looking for a perfect object to steal out in the open. Well, he is a thief. "I told you to come, but I never expected to be stood out." His deep voice with such authority made Joe shivered and jumped up to his feet. "Sirius! HA HA HA HA! Hello man! Looking good, huh? How's your night?" He said, trying to make up for what he did yesterday by having a good conversation, but he knew he'd never buy it. "Come inside." He said in a straight face and entered the coffee shop. Joe couldn't do anything but to follow him, saying 'phew' in relief for a second of a heart attack. Sirius sat down at his favorite table near the window. He handled out the notebook George gave him yesterday from the crime scene. Joe took a closer look at the notebook. He scanned it thoroughly through each page. "Is this yours?" He asked Sirius. "Does it looked like it's mine?" Sirius asked him back. Joe burst out in laughter. His voice almost awakened the entire city. Sirius gave him some time to recover himself. "You're early this morning. What brought you here at this hour?" Mr. Lauve asked them, putting down two cups of coffee. "Well..." Joe said he still couldn't recover himself. "Sirius made me read this...HAHAHAHA... storybook." He showed Mr. Lauve the notebook Sirius brought with him. "It was George's report," Sirius said. "George?!" He shouted out in surprise. He grabbed the notebook from Mr. Lauve's hands and wiped off some dirt. "Give it back to me, Mr. Lauve. We need to pay it with respect." Mr. Lauve shook his head and smiled. He left the two alone and went back to his place. "So, I thought we're just going to hang out until Mr. Lauve's case? I told you, you'll need me." Joe smirked and showed Sirius his proud face. 'He thinks so highly of himself.'  Sirius thought. "Mr. Arzon Schither was found dead on his home at a small alley in Oakland Street. That's where he was hiding," Sirius said, brushing off Joe's statement. "Arzon Schither?! That Arzon Schither?" Joe asked him in disbelief. Sirius nodded his head. "Who found him?" He asked. "Therese Wendelwood, she was Arzon's maid. She was the only one in the crime scene and primarily the suspect in this case." He stated. "What happened to the body?" He asked. "There's no result with the autopsy yet. George will contact us as soon as he has it. He was covered with bruises and cuts from liquor bottles above his kitchen sink. His puke scattered all over the floor and to his shirt. Also, his eyes are wide open." Sirius said, making a summary from what George had written in his notes. "Who could it be?" Joe asked himself, putting his hands under his chin. "We know he was the man behind the bomb attack here at Greenville Street. He's no ordinary man with a lot of firing eyes on him." Sirius sipped his coffee. "But George said in his notebook his two-story house is located in a small alley where you can barely see the door. It also has a small space, so homicide is not a case. Something made him die." Joe concluded. "We're still far from the case. I still need some evidence." Sirius said, looking at the window. -0-0-0- "I'm sorry for what I've done." A man was on his knees, crying his heart out. "How could you do this to me?" She said in a blank face with tears falling from her eyes. "But I don't know that... I don't know... Therese, I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Therese." He wept and repeatedly asking for her forgiveness, knowing her heart was already made out of stone. -0-0-0- HEAD NEWS REPORT "After the death of one the most wanted drug syndicate Mr. Mario Jagneer, it was not until later the body of Mr. Arzon Schither was found dead cold in the middle of a rainy night yesterday. His body was found by his maid and the primary suspect, Ms. Therese Wendelwood. The crime was still under investigation, and the reason why he died was not yet confirmed..." He was watching TV alone in his room, waiting for his breakfast. 'What a cold morning,' he thought, a perfect day to start with hot news paired up with a freshly brewed coffee and French toasts. He stood up in his bed, making his way through his walk-in closet, finding the most suitable suit for the day. As soon as he found the perfect necktie to pair up with his merino sheep wool made Kiton K-50 suit, he was humming in so much joy walking to his bathroom. He showered in contentment, enjoying himself to the water that rushed through his skin. When he was done and already prepared himself, he went down to his dining area. He loves the smell and the food that comes with it. He was eating alone but knew he's not lonely in this world. "You're making my heart flutter, Sirius." He said, smiling, facing his plate.
