That fight took a lot out of him, so he slept for most of the day. While he was sleeping, Makato and Kyoko talked about what had happened. Makato was still shocked from his spar with Mitsuki.
“Kyoko, did you see what he did? He didn't even know magic existed until he was 4. It's been about 5 months since then, so that means he’s gotten that powerful with magic in just that short amount of time.”
Kyoko starts to think about what he's saying.
“Not to mention, his reflexes and combat abilities, He was able to dodge one of my attacks and was able to perform a counter attack within that short time. That kid is something else.”
“Makato, do you know what this means?”
A smile grew on Kyoko's face
“Our son is a genius!”
She jumps up feeling excited as she walks to Mitsuki's room.
Kyoko opens the door and takes a seat next to him.
“Whether he's a genius or not he's our son, I know he's going to grow up to be a good man. We’re going to raise him to make sure of that.”
She said with a smile while rubbing Mitsuki's head.
“Sleep well Mitsuki.” Kyoko walked out the room parting with those words.
“I know, we’ll make sure he grows up to be a good man.”
Mitsuki tosses and turns in his bed, having a recurring dream that he always forgets when he wakes up. A nightmare. He was put in a scene that he knows well, but he doesn't remember where it's from. He knows that he knows this place. He's sitting down as he notices that the ground is wet. He brings his hand slightly up while he begins to look down. He's sitting in a pool of blood. He got a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach that made him want to throw up… but he couldn't. He moves and notices dead bodies around him. He knows the blood wasn't his own. He gets up and begins to walk. The number of bodies start to grow as he walks through a field of death. His face was full of shock and anguish, but he kept walking. What else could he do? He was overcome with the feeling of loneliness, it felt like he was the only person left. He felt as if there was no one with him. He finally sees someone that's alive, a woman. Without saying anything Mitsuki approached the person. It felt as if he couldn't speak a single word, if he tried would anything even come out? The person turned around. The face was familiar, but he didn't know who he was. But seeing her face gave him a feeling of comfort. The woman spoke out to him.
“I tried.”
The woman puts her hands around Mitsuki's throat and begins to tighten.
She says something that Mitsuki can't make out. But deep down it felt like he knew what she said.
After that, she began to tighten her grip
Mitsuki couldn't move. It's like he didn't have the strength to.
Or maybe he didn't want to.
He could feel his life slipping away, as he lost more strength.
He was filled with sorrow, guilt, fear, and so many more emotions.
However, as he took his last breath... he felt a hint of content.
Mitsuki awoke from that nightmare. He didn't remember anything, but the feelings he felt from it were still fresh. His hands were shaking, it felt like he wanted to throw up. The fear lingered with him.
He got up and brushed it off, put on some clothes and walked out his room.
“Morning mom, morning dad”
“Oiiii Mitsuki, you're finally up. You were really impressive in the sparring match yesterday. I had no clue you could do things like that. AND WHEN THE HELL DID YOU LEARN HOW TO DO MAGIC LIKE THAT!”
“Hehe, I started training after you showed me magic on my birthday. It took a while but I got it, and ever since then I've been training a lot.”
“I see, I see, we’re gonna have to have a serious spar when I get you trained up. You have amazing potential. But I think you’re still too young. You’re going to start physical training when you turn 6. How does that sound?”
“A-Alright, that's okay..”
Makato noticed mitsuki seemed a bit off
“Mitsuki, are you alright? Your face looks pale and your eyes, they seem sort of off”
As much as he tried to hide it... Those emotions still bled through his facade.
“I- Im fine, I just had a bad dream”
He looked away while saying that
Makato pats his head
“Don’t worry Mitsuki,it was just a dream. You're fine now, okay.”
“I know.”
He knew he was fine, but simply returning to reality wasn't enough to take away that feeling
“I'm going to go back to training. Once I'm 6 I'll be alot stronger than I was yesterday so you better be ready.”
He said that with a smirk on his face while walking back toward his room.
“You bet kid. Not like you're gonna be able to beat me anytime soon.”
Mitsuki entered his room and started training.
He wanted to get his magic as strong as he could within the year and a half before his combat training starts.
In this life he wanted to be strong, he wanted to make the people that he loves proud. Mitsuki is going to try his best to achieve that
