We set out for the journey to the city at the earliest dawn the following day. Lugard Helios insisted on riding his horse despite his new stitches. He sat tall on the saddles, his hair well slicked into a man bun with beards neatly combed and tamed. He had his shoulders in a straight line as though he was a Commander leading an army to victory.
