Best friends Kit and Selena

My friend stood above me staring down at me with concern on her face as I realized I was on the floor. Sitting up I glanced around the room.

Looking down at myself, I realized I was drenched in sweat, my underwear and bra stuck to my skin and it finally dawned on me that I had been dreaming.

Looking up at Selena, I gave her the I don't know what happened look and shrugged my shoulders.

"Are you okay Kit?" she asked.

"I'm fine, It was just another dream is all . " I stated as I stood up and started walking toward the bathroom floor .

"What the hell were you dreaming about that it would throw you on the darn floor like that Kit?" she yelled as I started removing my clothes to shower for school so glad this was my last week before summer break.

As I showered, my thoughts went back to the nightmare I'd just had. I've had it a few times before but each time got worse and seemed more vivid in detail.

The fire had been new, The murderous beast with the red glaring eyes running at me that clawed me had all been new. I realized that it seemed so real as if I could still feel those claws on my hips.

Suddenly , the knocking on the door interrupted my thoughts as my best friend beat on the bathroom door and shouted my name.

Selena's POV

I glanced at my phone to check the time and realized we were gonna be late again if Kit didn't hurry up. Today was the final exams and we couldn't afford to be late today.

Walking to the bathroom door, I knocked and shouted for Kit. "Are you gonna be in there forever Kit?" "We are gonna be late again if you don't hurry up."

I hear her turn the shower off and yell that she was putting her clothes on now and would be right out. I grabbed the keys and our backpacks and waited.

Finally, the bathroom door opened and Kit came out going to her vanity and grabbed a scrunchie and put her hair in a ponytail. I pointed at my watch and gave her a sarcastic look reminding her of the time .

Kit gave me an apologetic stare as she slid her flip flops and made her way toward me and grabbed her backpack putting it on her shoulder. Next she grabbed the keys from me.

"I'll get us there in time Selena" Kit stated cheerfully.

I know it was a bad idea, Kit couldn't drive worth a sh*t but she had already set her mind on it and I wasn't taking up more time to argue with her about it. Kit looked at me and grinned as she started the SUV up and spun out .

"So are you gonna tell me about your dream ?" I asked.

"It was different this time" she answered in a weird kinda way as if she was deep in thought.

"Was it like the last one? " I asked her.

"It was except this time, it had flames that engulfed me, some kind of beast running at me, and I was tied to a wooden beam with this other girl."

"It was like I felt her pain and my own. It felt so real and terrifying." she added

"Hmm, I glanced out the window as I was deep in my thought before asking her. "What do you mean by beast exactly? "

"I don't know, it was scary and had these red eyes that just glared at me." she remarked.

"It kinda looked like a wolf but instead of being on four paws, it was in the shape of a human." she added.

Her answer had me glancing out the window again. Could it have anything to do with my family? I thought to myself . The truth was wolves existed, I knew that because I was one but Kit didn't know I harbored that secret but even if she did, she'd still love me anyway.

Kit and I were closer then most people, we knew almost everything about each other. Kit was like the sister I never had.
