Sloane’s entire world seemed to stop as she heard the voice she dreaded the most.
“What’s happening here?”
Her breath caught in her throat. Every muscle in her body locked up as she turned sharply, eyes widening in horror at the sight of her brother, Vincein.
No.
Not now. Not like this.
Her heart pounded against her ribs, each beat louder than the last. She could barely process what was happening. Vincein stood at the entrance of the restaurant, his imposing figure radiating authority and barely contained fury.
His piercing eyes scanned the scene, moving over Damon, Aiden, and finally settling on her.
Sloane felt numb.
She had known this moment would come eventually, but she had never expected it to unfold this way—so soon, so suddenly, so… disastrously.
