Chapter Twenty-One Trinity wanted to argue it wasn’t acceptable to her. She didn’t want anything to happen to Emery because he was helping her. Once again she missed the opportunity to protest. He opened the door and stepped inside. Lightning lit up the sky again, thunder on its heels. She froze, barely able to breathe. She couldn’t do this. She’d been crazy to think she could. Emery turned, taking her hand and drawing her forward with him, keeping her close, his grip on her hand tight.
